Children's Studio
Our philosophical approach at the Children's Studio is eclectic. A hands-on project-based approach to learning and discovery is most frequently used to accomplish our goals. This methodology promotes a positive balance between teacher-planned activities that are tied to the curriculum and, simultaneously, for unexpected student-generated interests that emerge to be fully developed and explored.

It is not our intention to foster a predetermined learning style for a child but rather to discover, along with the child, the type of learning style, or combination of styles, that is natural and organic to that particular child, be it visual, auditory, or kinesthetic.
Services
Individual skill-based learning is designed to meet the individual development and learning style of each child. Project-based learning focuses on an open-ended inquiry about topics that are introduced by the teacher or that have emerged from the class. Both approaches are used in all of our groups.
Children today are born into a global world. The neighborhoods they grow up in are no longer exclusively defined by the parameters of their town and family but are affected by the multiplicities of ethnicities that stretch across the globe. To address this issue, the Children's Studio has increasingly embraced exposing students to a wide variety of languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, Gallic, and Sign) and cultural traditions.
We've had two children at Children's Studio: our first son who's now nine, and our younger son who's now four, and they both had a wonderful experience. They learned a lot, and we always felt that they were safe, and happy - which is what we were really concerned about. So I heartily endorse Children's Studio!
Over the course of the year it can be easy to forget the school's policy guidelines given at the time of enrollment. We have a new page with the school's information which has photos of the school, the children through the years and artwork they have created. Like us today! Also, we have created a private group for families of currently enrolled children.
Where does one start to help young children begin to develop a sense of social responsibility and respond to those who may be less economically fortunate? With the help of Heifer International, the Children's Studio found a way by starting with something children could easily relate to and understand.

Small, friendly-staff, community based, heavily art focused, we love it there. It's walkable, safe, clean, fun. Very convenient, affordable. Cool parents. Cannot say enough good things.

I visited at least 4 other schools and then found the Children's Studio. As a designer I immediately noticed all the artwork was created by the kids or the teachers (some incredibly talented). The setting is warm and my kids stayed happy from day one. The safe environment and the way they care about the kids was evident from the beginning. One of my boys went through the whole program before we moved to another town and it was so clear he was more than prepared to integrate to other schools and on top of that was the only reading kid when we enrolled him in kinder. I liked that he was part

The Children's Studio was better than we even hoped for our two boys. Preparing them for kindergarten and working with them through challenges was an obvious strength of the school. The staff is wonderful and the environment of the school is warm and appropriately focused on the right things.

My 2 boys are in the Children's Studio and there is no day where they don't tell me and show me how much they learn and love their school and teachers. They come home with beautiful artwork, they learn to live in a harmonious community where art, communication and individuality are encouraged. Also, I feel comfortable with how safety is such a serious subject with the owner. I've had a wonderful experience with the staff and feel lucky to have found them.
