We are a family run business that was founded in 1972 by Ray Link, a man who was dedicated to the kind of service you can count on. He valued quality and integrity in business, and we are committed to serving our clients the way Ray always did, by providing quality fire protection systems for the people of the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan area.
We maintain a California C-16, Fire Protection Contractor License, and a General Building Contractor license. The team at Link-Nilsen takes a great deal of pride in our work. Our goal is to provide you with the peace of mind that your life and property are protected against fire by a high quality automatic fire protection system.

Services
One of sixteen Los Angeles subway stations equipped with complete fire sprinkler systems designed and built by Link-Nilsen. One of dozens of university buildings in Southern California protected by Link-Nilsen systems. One of the many fire water, life/safety infrastructure projects Link-Nilsen has created for the public transportation of Los Angeles.
Our experienced staff can take your project from the initial concept, to the design, approval and permit with the authority of jurisdiction, fabrication and installation. We also provide inspection, testing and maintenance of existing fire protection systems. Our design team combines years of experience with some of the most powerful tools in the industry to develop plans for our clients, local authorities and our installation crews.
Our primary experience in aerospace construction has been our association with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. Our current role at JPL is as their vendor for the inspection, testing and maintenance of all water-based fire protection systems on lab. However, our experience dates back to the 1970s and we have been active ever since with new construction projects, retro-fits and repair projects.
We have completed projects in several historic buildings including the Santa Ana Court House, Queen Anne's Cottage at the LA County Arboretum, the Art Museum at the Huntington Library and the Athenaeum at Caltech. We have completed several fire protection projects at detention facilities for LA and Orange County.
One of Link-Nilsen's first projects was to Retro-fit the student union building, the administration building and a dormitory on the campus of UCLA. Since then we have been back to install several more fire protection systems on that campus as well as on the campuses of UC Irvine, USC, Pepperdine and Caltech.
