Jump on board the San Francisco Water Taxi for a fun ride along the San Francisco Waterfront from the Pier 1.5 near the Ferry Building to the Hyde Street Fishing Pier and back. It's fun for the whole family!. Our main route between Pier 1.5 and the Hyde Street Pier allows for 'whistle stops' at either The Exploratorium or Pier 39.

Use our Hop-on/Hop-off feature to do both: Check out The Exploratorium then 'flag us down' for a lift to Pier 39 or the Hyde Street Fishing Pier near Ghirardelli Square, the Cable Car Turnabout or explore nearby Fisherman's Wharf. Two Express stops are avaiable for daytime events at either Chase Center or Oracle Park.
Services
Hyde Street Fishing Pier or Harbor - Look for Sandwich Boards and/or signage to direct you to the boarding location. Pier 15 - The Exploratorium is just steps away as the boarding dock is marked on the side of the main Exploratorium building. Pier 39, East side of the main Pier 39 walkway and set back from the street, you will find boarding location.
An anchorage is a set place in the bay for ships to drop anchor and wait. In San Francisco Bay, Anchorage 9 just South of the Bay Bridge. Here ships may anchor for several reasons, typically they are waiting for a loading dock to off-load inbound cargo and pick-up outbound cargo. Sometimes ships are at anchorage waiti, ng for instructions for the next cargo run.
On most normal days the number of boats carrying passengers to Alcatraz, for a trip under the Golden Gate Bridge, and on the various ferries are plentiful. The big difference between those boats and our Water Taxi private events is our size. We don't carry hundreds of people; we carry under 20. What our guests get that others miss it the power of nature.
Let us know you are a commuter and what we need to do to get you around. Our Captains are sharp and recognize repeating customers. They are prepared to tarry a bit if you are running late or hustle a little to get you to your destination on time! Living or Working in Mission Bay? Gather your friends or peers and create a special excursion from Mission Bay to Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli, or Pier 1.5 at the foot of Market Street.
Avoid the crowded Metro cars and arrange a ride on the Bay down to Oracle Park (Pier 40) or Chase Center (Pier 52). Better still, contact us about an hour charter to explore the San Francisco Waterfront before you arrive at the ballpark. Call to arrange your SAN FRANCISCO WATER TAXI lift to a ballgame or combo excursion with a ballpark destination.

An alternative way to get around the Bay, but as with most taxi, they are over priced. So unless you simply want the experience of riding a water taxi, there are much more economical ways to get around the SF Bay.

Wow. Money hungry jerks. Wanted me to wait an extra 20 minutes so they could make more money than my small party. I waited 35 minutes to be told they wanted to make more money off a bigger party. Fine let me know ahead of time! Thanks :(

This entire business is a scam and DO NOT use it. They got our money and took us to some weird place and there was no boat. After waiting for 1 hour, we came back to get our money back and they refused. We are still fighting to get our money back for 7 people. Please DO NOT try these rides.

Please don't use these rides. They almost physically attacked us while we were trying to get the refund for the service that we never received. Pier 39 is a great place for families and these crooks are ruining their reputation.

They tell you that they’re going to take you near the golden gate and Alcatraz. Near is an exaggeration . The captain was very nice though.

Was a great way to not repeat the walk along the waterfront and also get to see and experience it from another angle!

Our captain was an excellent woman who was very friendly and showed us around the bay for the super pleasant 20 minute ride from pier 1 1/2 to 45. We got to see some fish and scary Dexter-esque floating plastic bags in the bay too. I hope this goes great for them and becomes an actual water taxi service!
