The 6th grade building provides a single-grade, comfortable setting where students grow into the role of middle school student. Teachers utilize a team approach, collaborating with parents to provide students with the support they need to take on the additional rigor at the middle school level.

Spectrum High School is a public charter high school which received its original charter in 2006. The school currently serves grades six through twelve, and is located thirty-five miles northwest of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area.

Charter schools are K-12 public schools that provide choice for parents and students within the public school system. Open to all who apply, except if the school is over-subscribed, in which case a lottery is held for all of the students who applied before the deadline. Once a student is enrolled, siblings are given preference in admission.
In September of 2011, Spectrum added the 6 through 8 Grade classes to the school's enrollment. With middle school students joining Spectrum, the school's enrollment climbed to 390 students for the 2011-2012 school year. Spectrum is a leader among charter schools in that a strong athletics program is an integral part of the school.
Spectrum High School is a FREE, public, college-prep charter school serving 800+ students in grades 6-12 in the broader Elk River area. Mission Statement: Spectrum's mission is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes to successfully navigate the college and career of their choice and positively impact the world around them.
Spectrum High School offers college courses taught by Spectrum faculty allowing students to earn college credit while staying on Spectrum's campus. College at Spectrum High School (C@SH) is a partnership with the following colleges: Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Central Lakes College, Pine Technical and Community College, and the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

I hated going here the teachers were nice and all but the gosh dang homework the amounts of home work you get from dis school vanburg is 10000000000000% better than this school all the teachers do is give you some stupid project to do and also did I mention on how much they expect like c'mon spectrum and 1 thing I hated was service learning and avid they are stupid and a waste of time there is no point in doing that stuff ik it like for like the community but its a waste of time and also spectrum does not get out to 305 while vanburg gets out at like 245

Meh. I personally am a student at Spectrum High School, and I think it's a good ol' meh. Got goods and bads to it. They're expecting me so much, but if I switch schools, it won't be any better. Take every bad thing from other schools in this area: Drugs, fights, crime. Spectrum has 1% of all that garbage from other schools. If you want a safe learning environment, this is the place to go.
