This is a website designed to inform the conscientious American of an approved alternative to dispose of worn American flags. How do you properly retire a worn American Flag? The most common way is by burning. At that time most American flags were made of cotton or wool. Today the vast majority of American flags are made of nylon or other petroleum-based materials.
These synthetic materials last much longer but it's important that they are recycled instead of burned. Today's durable flags last much longer and are made of nylon or polyester. Burning American flags made of nylon (a petroleum product) creates hazardous gases and wastes resources. Ironically, burning American flags increases our dependence on foreign oil.

When I ordered a (Flag Size: 3' x 5', Wind Conditions: Average to High Wind - Nylon, Extra Reinforced - For Extra Flag Life: Yes), I figured it would last. But it only made it 91 days before coming apart. The worst thing is this company DOES NOT stand behind their products. Karen, said to send it in to be fixed! lol, once you cut off the bad part, you now have a smaller flag lol. When asked to replace it, I got no reply. Bad company. Shame on you Karen. Never again.

Five star customer service.
I sent an email via their website contact form about the color of several flags. Nicole replied, going above and beyond by taking the flags out of the packaging and taking a photo to allow me to compare the colors. I also spoke with another employe on the phone who was equally patient and helpful.
A great flag shop with excellent customer service.
UPDATE - 05/04/2021 - I had a quality issue with a flag purchased, from a supplier, not made by American Flag Express. I emailed them about the issue and they promptly, respectfully, and with definitive resolution dealt

We change out our flag fairly often. This time around, I wanted something better than the usual that would stand out and last longer. This AFE flag is head and shoulders better than others I have bought over the years. It is heavier in weight and shows excellent stitching. Attached to our existing pole in less than 5 minutes. Simply superior workmanship.
Their website has an enormous range of choices. Ordered, shipped and received in 2 days. Maybe a bit more in cost than other places, but you get a better flag that will last longer and look better while on display. I have to think it will be cheaper
