John Goad is the owner and home inspector of JW Goad Home Inspections. A home is a huge investment, and it would be taking an unnecessary risk to walk into negotiations without first having the property evaluated by a qualified inspector. John is a third-generation home builder with a wealth of knowledge about building materials, system operation, and safe construction practices.
JW Goad Home Inspections offers comprehensive property inspection services to areas of Northern Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. What is a home inspection? A home inspection is a visual inspection of the structure and components of a home to find items that are not performing correctly or items that are unsafe. If a problem or a symptom of a problem is found the home inspector will include a description of the problem in a written report and may recommend repair or replacement.
Houses are built to last a lifetime, but certain components wear out periodically and will need to be replaced on a fairly regular time cycle. The following life cycles are not personal opinions, but are based upon the individual manufacturers suggested service-life of these components. Also, please remember that these components and systems are like people: some fail early in life and some last much longer than we ever thought possible.

John answered the phone while he was traveling and managed to work our new construction inspection into the next week. He was extremely responsive, and returned a thorough report to us very promptly. Overall an excellent experience and I couldn’t recommend him any higher, Top Notch!

Mr Goad is the best inspector in the area, he is very thorough and detailed on every single inspection that he does. He’s done two inspections for me and his reports are very profesional written and the way they are broken down is what distinguishes him to be the best. Will definitely call him even if I buy a house out of the state.

Easy to reach, keeps in touch, on time, pleasant, thorough, not only spots items needing repair, but points out what you will need to save for in the near future. Johnny has saved me a lot of money and headaches over the years. He is good, so he’s often booked solid. Drives my realtor crazy, but I will not buy until John Goad inspects. No substitute for John. Mr. Goad was great when it came to needing a last minute home inspection on a new build. He was early to the time scheduled and was thorough with his process, he was very friendly with me being there while he conducted the inspection and was willing to explain everything he saw and was doing. Overall great experience payment and reviewing the inspection was very user friendly as well.

I was very skeptically of my home inspection experience. Mr. Goad arrived earlier than scheduled and immediately began the inspection. Before he began he explained the process and even provided me with updates during the inspection. I received the results of the inspection the same evening and it was very easy to follow. I’d personally recommend JW Goad to anyone purchasing a home in the Clarksville area!
