Robin Hood Woods Campground
Here at Robin Hood Woods, our whole family and friendly staff pride ourselves on the hard work and dedication it has taken to make Robin Hood Woods one of the cleanest and best-run campground resorts in Illinois. Our facilities have been designed around the need for comfort, safety and a fun-filled family vacation.

Our resort is a peaceful and quiet get-a-way in a friendly and neighborly environment. You will feel relaxed and stress-free in our oasis of mature trees and water, which is far from the noise of the city and located in a remote region of America's Heartland know as Shelbyville. We are located east of the Town of Shelbyville and 2.5 miles from Lake Shelbyville.
Services
Here at Robin Hood Woods, we take pride in having one of the cleanest and best-run family campgrounds and RV-parks in Illinois. The park is quiet, friendly and a great get-a-way for the whole family. The park is located just east of Shelbyville and a short drive to many local attractions for the whole family to enjoy as well as close proximity to Lake Shelbyville, where boating and fishing are the two main activities.
We have two bathhouses. Our newly constructed bathhouse offers modern facilities conveniently located in the center of the park and is handicap accessible. The woman's side has a separate makeup area, heated floors during the cooler seasons, electric hand dryers, and piped in music throughout. Our second bathhouse is conveniently located near our tenting area.
All of our Log Cabins, Cedar Cabins and Family Cottages are clean and cozy and comfortable. We want your stay with us to be both relaxing and fun. They are fully equipped with everything you need and also give you lots of room for parking your car and boat. Our family and friendly staff is here to make sure your vacation is care free and enjoyable.
Enjoy fishing in our 2 acre pond, which is stocked with large-mouth bass, blue gill and catfish. This is the pond that fishermen of all ages are sure to get plenty of action from, whether fishing with a worm or using a favorite lure. We pride ourselves in knowing many of our young fishermen today became interested in fishing after sitting on the shore of our pond catching their first fish.
Lake Shelbyville has been stocked with Smallmouth Bass and after reading the fishing report below you may feel it's a waste of time fishing for hard fighting Bronzebacks. However, Smallmouth Bass have been known to congregate in tight traveling schools and stay deep in lakes where there are Muskie.

Cabins are very clean! My extended family had 4 cabins and all of them were wonderful! IMO I would opt for the 1 1/2 bedroom one (unless you need more privacy). Plenty of open space during the day and not too crowded with couch out at night. The 2 bedroom ones seemed to have less open space for cooking and hanging out.

Nice campground.the cottage that we stayed in needs some attention. showerhead needs replaced there was hardly any water coming out. not very hot water either. maybe it's the regulation on the water temp but it didn't get hot enough for me. doorknob on entry door needs replacing or fixed. cleanliness of the cottage needs the most attention!! bed clothes needs washed after someone has stayed in the cottage. overall they need a deep clean .

To start off with a couple weeks before our stay, I called and reserved another golf cart. When talking with office staff I was asked “your not getting another golf cart for a teenager to be driving around are you?” Um excuse me, what would even give someone that indication??? I was renting it for my elderly mother to use while visiting us!! My… kids put a very small 2 person tent up behind our cabin to feel like they were “roughing it”.......I got called to the office over this. Was it hurting something or someone??? When called to the office I was asked why so many

We brought our 4 kids (5yr old twins, 9 yr old, and 12) and camped in cabin 11 for our first visit to RHW. We cannot say enough great things about this place!!! Our kids fished EVERYDAY and caught fish and… turtles LOL. They loved the playground! Their were so many campers that call this home who stopped and offered fishing tips and tricks and even donated minnows to our kids and told us where to go to find them! The cabin was PERFECT for our family!! The staff were so kind and helpful the whole way, the other campers were a joy, and we cannot wait to come back! THANK YOU RHW, for an amazing

We just got back from a 3 day trip 14-16th, We didn’t have many issues and the staff was nice. However, we noticed that no one was social distancing, or wearing masks when in public areas (I don’t mean at the camp sites) and this wasn’t just at the camp site, this was everywhere inside the town. So if you’re coming from out of state or further North (Chicago for us) don’t expect anyone to be following the social distancing rules or anything. We actually left early because they had filled the cabin next to us and the people next to us were loud, Drinking, and kept coming over into our

Love, love, love this place. My husband and I cannot wait to return next season.
Beautiful mature trees with manicured grounds. Bathhouse is very clean.
Everyone was so pleasant.
If you are looking for a great campsite or cabins look no further. And Lake Shelbyville is 5 min drive from here.

The owners/staff are amazing and the rest rooms/shower house are super clean! The campground is quiet and family friendly. My only disappointment is the area where tent campers are assigned is cozy, and not in a good way. Our tents ended up being about 2 feet apart from those in neighboring campsites and the group next to us wasn't a good fit with our group. The spots are designed for smaller campers, not tents, so the layout is a bit awkward. My family all agreed we would go back but get back to back spaces instead of spaces in a row which would work out much nicer.

I never went to campgrounds when I grew up and I’m pretty sure I’ve been spoiled having now gone to Robin Hood Woods. It was an absolutely awesome family vacation. The staff was super friendly and helpful and it was a perfect getaway unplugged! Would highly recommend to anyone!!

Very rude and unprofessional staff and owner. I would not recommend this place for camping or events. I tried to calmly address the situation with the employee and the owner stating I would pay what ever needed to be paid and get license plates or whatever was needed to not do this in front of the children. The issue was brought to my attention once. I was met with aggression and hostility from both the employee and the owner. The owner stating he had to come in on his day off and we could just take our business elsewhere.

Spent a long needed family weekend in one of the cabins this weekend and it was wonderful. The staff and management was kind and helpful. Even after hours we were given attention and help. The customer… service was top notch! Everything was extremely clean and the other campers were so friendly. We will definitely be joining Robin Hood Woods again in the future!

If I could leave 0 start I WOULD!
Incredibly RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. Staff came up to an event I was attending at a campsite, was yelling and causing a scene over a $4 parking issue AFTER we thought it was taken care of. I Wasnt even at the event for an hour and the staff was rude more than once to the guests. Will NOT be going back and will NOT recommend this campground to anyone! Completely ruined the event for everyone attending. Also kept changing the prices of parking while causing a scene, and threatened to charge more for the kids attending. After the $4 was paid, staff drove by AGAIN and

We stayed the weekend of October 26th, 2019 at one of their tent campsites. Our only complaint would be that they combined tent sites with camper sites and we were surrounded by campers. It's hard to be "one with nature" when you keep hearing camper heaters kick on and off in the middle of the night. OTHER than that.. our stay was perfect. The campgrounds were quiet and beautiful. Bathrooms/Showers were super clean. Staff was friendly & helpful. I highly recommend this campground, but I would get more details about your campsite before committing.

One of the campsite staff members made sure that we knew we were not welcome there. It all started with him making sure we knew that him and the owners were bffs. Not really sure why he felt the need to make sure we knew that but ok. Then my friends 14 yr old son was using a hatchet to try and make marshmallow roasting sticks. He did in fact cut down a sapling. While yes this probably wasn't the best idea, I hardly feel it warranted being threatened with police action. Then one of my friends was taking his 4 yr old to the pool to go swimming and the same said staff member made sure to

We tent camped here this past weekend. There were seven of us, so we had to reserve two spots and since there weren't two tent spots open, we ended up with two RV spots. But we were in a great location, and actually not next to any RV's. The restrooms are new and clean (though it's camping - still bugs and wet floors); and the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. The pool was closed on Saturday due to all the rain and mud, but one of the main staffers went around to tell everyone so we wouldn't show up at the pool surprised that it was closed. We enjoyed our
