Debbie has been involved in gymnastics for over 40 yrs as an athlete, coach and an official. She was a USGF Class 1 competitor from age 12 through her High School years in which she then earned a Division 1 Scholarship at UMASS Amherst. Her coaching career has focused on all levels and ages groups.
The Xcel program is an alternative competitive program to the traditional Jr. Olympics team program. At Brestyan's, our goal is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities an opportunity to enjoy a rewarding gymnastics experience. Although less demanding than the team program, Xcel allows our gymnasts a more flexible commitment range while remaining engaged in a safe and enjoyable competitive environment.
Our Mom (or Dad!) and Me program is a great way to spend some time with your little one. This class helps toddlers get a head start on developing gross and fine motor skills, basic coordination, listening skills and interactive play. Parent and child participate in a variety of activities and age appropriate gymnastics.
At Brestyan's we believe in giving every child the opportunity to achieve his/her goals. We strive to give individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to achieve these goals by providing them with a program to develop their physical fitness and confidence. Our Special Olympics program consists of 60 minute long classes run by our own competitive gymnasts.

I trained at Brestyan’s under Mihai and Silvia Brestyan for 4 years from 2009-2014. It was not a good experience and I felt that the head coaches and some under them had a high disregard for athlete health and well being.
They pushed me and my team mates to work through injuries, demeaned athletes, used tactics to pit girls against each other, commented on gymnasts weight, and frequently yelled at athletes till they cried.
While I was there at least seven of my team mates had stress fractured backs from over use.
Even after being out of gymnastics for 7 years I still have chronic pain from

Extremely overrated. Most likely milking the Aly Raisman card for years now. The teacher's, well at least the one my daughter had, and the teacher that was overseeing another class next to my daughter's, had the enthusiasm and excitement of a mortician. Waste of money. Go to Reading Gymnastics. They have it together there and show genuine interest in every student.
