Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home
Since our founding, the guiding principle of Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home Inc. has been the commitment to treating each family who comes to us as our own. This is why when choose to invite the families we serve into our home, it is with sincerity, pride, and dedication, we are committed to this time-honored tradition.

In 1963 Edward J. Cichon with his wife Helen opened the funeral home in the home of his uncle, Chester Flick. As time passed the funeral home was updated and expanded to accommodate the families of our community. After nearly forty years of serving the families of Depew and Lancaster the Cichon's decided it was time for a change, so in 2000 they entered semi retirement.

Brian was born in the Kaisertown Section of the city of Buffalo to Annette (nee Cieslik) and Timothy Borgosz where he attended St. Bernard Parish and Elementary School. High School began at Mt. St. Joseph Academy and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cheektowaga, NY where he continues to be active in their Alumni Association.
This section contains useful information about what to do when death occurs, frequently asked questions and our funeral merchandise selection. Family and friends getting together to honor a loved one's life is one of the most important steps in the grieving and healing process. You may opt to have a traditional religious or military service, or as more and more people are doing, you can choose to have a non-traditional 'life celebration'.
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service in a church, or other place of worship. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or not. You have the option of having the remains interred (earth burial), or it may be entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum (above ground burial).

We were treated like family. Every detail was taken care of. The price was great compared to other funeral homes. Every question was answered and he was very kind and patient with us. He went beyond our expectations!

My dad died in January and we finally laid him to rest today because of covid. Brian was wonderful from the time I called him until today when we had his burial. It was beautiful. He made sure my dad had the military and police honors at his funeral. He set everything up. He also ordered and had his military marker put in. He did a lot of extra things he wouldn’t have had to do and was always available for my many questions. I would recommend him with no question for your loved one. Thanks again Brian. God bless you.

Working with Brian three years ago to make pre-arrangements for my Mom and Aunt with was very easy. He is knowledgeable and answers any questions you have, and advises you well. When the time came to have the services for my aunt, Brian was once again wonderful to work with. He took care of everything we expected, as well as a few things we hadn't even thought of. Brian and his son Peter, made a difficult time much easier to navigate with their expertise and compassion. Highly recommend!

Brian was such a comfort to work with, very patient with all our questions. Even answered questions we didn't think to ask. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would. Thank you for everything you did. I would recomend him to anyone.

Brian Borgosz, and his son, Peter, are wonderful to work with. I had to begin to make arrangements from out-of-town when my sister passed away unexpectedly, without her wishes exactly known. I tried to balance the needs of everyone who was grieving, which wasn’t easy due to some unique circumstances. Brian and Peter were always there to help, to listen, and to remind me to just make the decisions I thought were best. In addition, my sister died without a life insurance policy or any means to pay for the funeral expenses, leaving the responsibility to me. Brian was extremely sensitive to this
