Services
Grant Regional Health Center, formerly known as Lancaster Memorial Hospital, opened its doors on Sept. 19, 1955, but plans for development started 10 years earlier. In 1945 a small group of citizens began considering the possibility of a new hospital. It wasn't until 1952, when Lancaster became eligible for government grants, that a new group, under the chairmanship of Albert Weber, started planning again.
The Grant Regional Health Center Foundation is a component of Grant Regional Health Center, whose purpose is to support the needs of the hospital. Our goal is to obtain community support for those needs so that Grant Regional may provide the highest-quality care and services in our region. Individual and community support helped make Grant Regional Health Center a reality more than 60 years ago.
Grant Regional Health Center is accredited through The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is an organization that evaluates hospital performance standards, focusing on quality of healthcare. Accreditation by The Joint Commission is recognized nationwide as a symbol of high quality, because it requires meeting rigorous performance standards.
The Auxiliary began in 1953 as a group of volunteers committed to supporting Grant Regional Health Center and hospital-sponsored programs and services offered to our community. Auxiliary involvement is a valuable and unique service opportunity for anyone interested in assisting the hospital. Auxiliary members have an opportunity to make a difference in the health of our surrounding communities.
Grant Regional Health Center is once again collaborating with a number of area agencies to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Our partners include Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics, Crossing Rivers Health, UW Extension, Grant County and Crawford County Public Health Departments, Aging and Disability Resource Center, and many others.

Just wanted to give the staff at Grant Regional Hospital a big thank you for the wonderful experience today with the Bunion procedure I had this morning. Starting with Michelle who check me in, Kate the nurse who prepared me for surgery, Scott; the anathestologist; who took away my fears of being knocked out, Heather the surgical nurse, and of course Dr. Chubbs who performed the surgery! My experience was wonderful!!! First time experience and you all took very good care of me! And the toast and coffee was awesome! Thank you all for such good care!

Kind, compassionate, and caring doctors, nurses, and staff.. whether it is a routine appointment or an ER visit.. I have never met so many people in the healthcare field that truly care about you on a personal level and want to help you and figure out what is wrong. The way they care for me and my family is like no other place in the area. A different area facility cared so little... it almost cost me my life. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to trust the healthcare field again.. but luckily I found Grant Regional. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff for all you do!

I came back home because I was sick and the Drs in Iowa werent finding out what was wrong. The people that work in this hospital n clinics saved my life. They are always kind caring and respectful. I feel safe with these people taking care of me.

The policy of no visitors is a complete joke. You won’t let one person go back to support their loved one in pain for “safety reasons”. But you’ll let me check in as a patient then sit in the same room as them.. this isn’t about health and safety anymore, this is about money. Also as a side note you can’t refuse service for not wearing a mask. Thanks for trying tho!

Very nice staff, but didn't treat me like a person after my initial entrance. I went into the ER for an overdose/suicide attempt. They left the blood pressure cuff on me when I finally got to sleep. I must have laid on it and because they didn't do their job of watching me, the cuff kept squeezing and bruised me. I could have literally died. I could've had a seizure when they left me there. Then they didn't tell me I was getting a Chapter 51 (involuntary hospitalization). I just overheard them saying so. No one read my rights. When it was time to go, they didnt even tell me where I was being taken

Grant regional delivered 2 of my beautiful children. My doctors were so caring, understanding, helpful, mostly they arent judgemental. The nurses are also amazing. Only complaint is they could season their food a little better. But over all GREAT vibes. Sweet people. Wayy better than platteville wisconsin and dubuque iowa. I reccomend 10000 percent. 😀😘

I went to the Grant Regional Urgent Care because I had a bad cold/flu. I was traveling for work (I live out of state). I saw the billboards saying that it was a regular urgent care, even though it was a hospital. My Blue Cross plan has a $70 copay for Urgent Care. Any urgent care I go to other than Grant Regional, I only pay $70. Grant Regional Urgent Care, on the other hand, also charges a seperate 'facility fee'. I had to pay a seperate $40 deductable for their 'facility fee'. They never told me about that during intake. Copay was discussed, but they completely failed to disclose that 'facility

If you a physically and financially able, no matter your health concern, driving to Dubuque, Iowa, Platteville or Madison, Wisconsin, rather than Grant Regional Health Center, Grant Regional Community Clinic, or having to the Emergency Care Services, will always give you the best chance of receiving professional health care. One month before my 80 year old Mother's passing (from terminal cancer that had been diagnosed during 14 years of care) she was seen by Dr. Sheirlie LaMantia at the Grant Regional Community Clinic. My Mother, I was informed, had "tired organs" and was just "getting old". The
