Stayed here back in August & had a great time! They were under construction, but still open, so the clerk next door @ The Gilmer Inn took care of us. The room was nicely redecorated & housekeeping staff was awesome!

Very good for the price, but undergoing significant renovation while we stayed. If you're visiting Gilmer, this is a better option than staying in Longview, assuming you can survive what was customary motel architecture circa 1980. Your wallet will thank you.

I have never left a negative review for a hotel, but there were so many problems I felt like other people looking to book should be aware. Firstly there was construction going on, which is fine. Except our room was directly behind the construction dumpster that reeked of human waste. Every time we had to go in or out, at least one kid would be gagging. Even though we booked the correct number of adults and children we were still only given two towels and two wash rags. My daughters and I left early for breakfast one morning (the site says continental breakfast but there’s actually no breakfast

Visited Gilmer to attended Barnwell Mountain. Limited hotels in the town, so this was the best choice out of the two. They're remodeling, that's a plus. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were ok. Dated pillows and bedding. The room we stayed in the toliet wouldn't stop running and leaked into the floor. Housekeeping apparently was aware of it because they would turn the water off when they would clean the room. Shower also sprayed water all over the wall and onto the floor. Room does have a mini fridge. If we ever stay here again, we would need to bring an extra blanket and our own pillows

Mold in shower, asked for extra blanket and got bedspread, bed hard as a rock, fighting next door all night till 3 a.m. and cops arrested one guy. Don't think we'll be staying again. Front desk clerk was nice though.
