After years in the industry, I believed I could create a more elevated experience for my clients. Waxing especially had been seen as a sterile, nerve-wracking experience and I knew there was a better way. I envisioned a luxurious, but welcome escape where every detail would be considered, from soothing music, cleanliness and comfort to a custom formulated wax that clients would rave about.

Waxing can be such a nerve-wracking process but Smooth removes the roadblocks that might make you nervous if you are a first-time waxer. I appreciate the ease of online booking and the confirmation texts. Walking into the space there is a sense of calm, almost like a spa experience. I love all the fun products they have in the lobby. It is a great space to stop for unique gifts. After checking in, you go to the waiting area in the back that is so beautifully decorated with comfortable chairs. I only wish they would fully close the curtain that covers the window to the arcade outside of the business

Already booked my second appointment. Great place for first timers as Katie walked me through the process and was so nice through the whole process. She is a big reason I will be returning, but the whole place is great too. The front desk person was super nice and courteous, the waiting area is clean and fresh, the process only took 30 minutes, I signed up for their membership for my next Brazilian.
Edit to add. I’ve been going here for 2.5 years and am still seeing Katie! I’ve recommended this place countless times. They are the best place in the area and I will never go anywhere else!

Saw Hillary for my first “trip to Brazil”, and could not have asked for a better experience. She was both professional and friendly. Would highly recommend, and will be returning. The atmosphere was calming and clean, and made for a great overall experience.

It was my first time visiting this place… I chose it because it had great reviews. The place itself is cute and the esthetician I had was nice. What I don’t appreciate is their policy on retinol. If you have used a product with retinol within the past 2 weeks, they won’t wax you. I came to get my eyebrows done for pictures I have later this week (because I need them to look amazing!), but because I use a product with retinol, I was told I must have them tweezed instead of waxed. I signed the consent form and informed her that I’ve never had an issue in the many years I’ve gotten mine

I absolutely love going to SMOOTH. I used to go to Laura religiously when the Newport News location was open. I now go to the Norfolk location. Kaylene is a great waxer! The location is always clean, the service is great and I've noticed less painful brazilians whenever I go to SMOOTH. As long as I am in the area I will always try to go to SMOOTH over any other waxing studio.

I visited Smooth to get my back waxed. My wife's friend is a regular and recommended Karie. I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled time. I completed the first time visitor form and proceeded to the waiting area. Karie was very nice and professional. She calmed my nerves since it had been some time since my previous back waxing. The entire process took 30 minutes. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic the whole process was simple. Salute to Smooth and it's staff. I will definitely be back!

I got my first ever brazillian here with Amber and she was amazing! She talks to you the whole time, makes it comfortable and quick. This place is nonjudgemental as well which helped eased my anxiety as well. It was painless and the best first time i could ever ask for. 10/10 recommend :)

I love coming here!! All of the staff is nice and caring. They are clean, thorough and very professional. The young lady I used to see no longer works there BUT today I saw Amari (sp) and she was AMAZING! Highly recommend you ask for her; and that you try Smooth out altogether.

I had a great aesthetician work on my Brazilian for me. Great costumer service and everything was very cute and clean.
However, the reason I am giving my review three starts is because after three days I had patches growing back. With tip I paid someone close to $80 and had major patches growing back.. I could have shaved and gotten similar results for half the trouble :/ I ended up canceling my boyfriends appointment because men’s waxing costs more. I wish I could give this place a better review but the price and the results just were not worth it.

I have only been to the downtown location so I can't speak to any others. It is clean and spa like in ambiance. I have been impressed with their COVID policies and feel very safe going in for services.
I have very sensitive skin and sensitivity to many scents but have no issues with their waxing products. I see, Starla, and she is awesome. Professional, kind, quick but thorough and has a great personality.
If you have never had professional waxing services before or are looking for a new spot to get them done I highly recommend Smooth.

If you're looking for a place to get anything waxed, this is where I would recommend going. I've been coming here since 2015, and I cannot say enough great things. I started going here because of a yelp review, so I hope my review helps you decide where to go.
I started by getting Brazilian waxed, and I sometimes get my upper legs waxed also. They are so professional from the receptionist, the waiting area, to the wax, and finally to the checkout process.
They don't double dip in the wax, which is super hygienic (if any wax place/nail shop double dips ever, stop getting waxed

Car accident prevented my sister from making her appointment on time. Not only did she call multiple times and left a message, they admitted to receiving her message and did not bother to call back or answer the phone. They did however gladly charge a late fee. I understand that policies are in place for a reason, but these people don't care about their customers. They just want money. Try body chateau in va beach or panache in Norfolk instead, they actually care about their customers and are clean and affordable. Would give this place a zero if possible. They have no human decency.

No communication, terrible customer service. Made an appointment online, then called to confirm but no one answered. The next day I called again with still no answer but I received an email about the appointment. I got stuck in traffic and called to tell them I was on my way but might be late and no one answered, so I responded to their email to say please don't cancel my appointment I would be there soon. Since it's in downtown traffic is terrible and parking is tough to find. I was only 10 minutes late and they said they couldn't let me in because they're already working

Every experience I've had at Smooth has been just that... smooth! You can schedule online with your preferred waxer and it is amazingly easy. I've come on a few occasions over the years and had different ladies, but they are all 100% professional and easy to talk with to make the process go by so quickly. No awkward times here. They are careful in helping you with post-wax care and offer advice for first timers as well. Everything here is super clean and gorgeous! Their waiting room is what I'd want my dream sitting room to look like haha. They also have a retail store in the front

Had my very first professional Brazilian done today by the wonderful Chelsea! She made me feel so comfortable. The service was quick and smooth ! I have already rebooked and I'll be getting regular services here. The boutique area when you walk in is also super cute, full of amazing products and staffed by awesome people!

I've gone to four other waxing places in the area and have stuck with Smooth for a reason. I get my brows, underarms and Brazilians done there and have never been disappointed. Prior to going to Smooth, I had someone do a really wonky job on my eye brows. They were in pretty bad shape and Brandy fixed them right up! I typically go to Brandy because not only does she do a wonderful job, but she's very educated in different things that my skin needs after a wax. The boutique in the front is worth browsing as well even if you don't plan on getting a wax! They have really unique gift ideas.

I have been coming to Smooth for a few years every time I am in the Norfolk area. Each time, it never disappoints and I leave a satisfied customer. The convenience of making my appointment online prior to arriving in the city is welcomed and easy.

I love smooth! My friend (who works as an esthetician) recommended this place to me and completely raved about it being her favorite wax spot. I am so glad because now I don't think anywhere else could top this place!
The shop is so cute and is definitely made for a relaxing and pampering experiences.
