While employed at Pioneer Natural Gas, Eugene started a small business out of his home that he operated in his spare time known as Stubbs Ditching. While Eugene was installing pipelines, Stacey was answering the phone and selling a fitting or two.
Incorporating in 1976, the newly named business, Stubbs, Inc., continued to grow in the pipeline division as well as in retail sales. Stubbs Inc. employed 25 people at one time. With so much growth in sales and inventory, it became obvious that the sales division should become its own company.
