Burns Kish Funeral Homes & Cremations has been serving Munster, Indiana and Hammond, Indiana area families for over 112 years (since 1908), and is still family owned. The Funeral Homes are now in the capable hands of fourth generation Funeral Director, Brian Burns, who took over the business from his father, Tom Burns, officially in 2017.

Let's be honest, no one ever wants to need a funeral director; if it were up to me, I wouldn't have needed one for at least another 20, 30 years but unfortunately that wasn't the case. My father passed away unexpectedly and it's the saddest time of my life to date. My siblings and I met with Renee the day after my dad's passing and I have to say, I truly believe my dad had a hand in putting Renee on our path. Renee was an absolute blessing. We couldn’t say nothing but great things about the people at Burns Kish. Renee was absolutely great and wonderful to work with during our family’s difficult time. From the start Renee made everything so easy and smooth for us and that’s how it should be. We all thank her and everyone there to help the service for our dad.

We held my mom’s funeral service with Burns-Kish Funeral Homes and they were absolutely amazing to work with. Emily took such great care of us. She could tell our brains were still reeling from our loss and she kept us on track with what we needed to do. She also checked in with us several times prior to the funeral to keep us posted and… informed on all the arrangements as they were be taken care of. Everyone at the funeral home was very courteous and very professional and made us feel comfortable during this very challenging time. Even on the day of the funeral when we did not like

We just moved to the area about six months ago. We had no idea even where to begin when the hospice nurses asked us which funeral home we wanted them to call. We suggested one that was a few blocks from her new home but the nurse said "how about we call Burns-Kish". Like I said we had no clue so we went with her recommendation. I can not say enough how happy we were with everything! They did an amazing job, from how my mother in law looked, to the extremely friendly staff. Exceptionally compassionate, caring and professional service during such a difficult was so refreshing! Really listened to our wishes, listened to concerns and offered suggestions when appropriate. Allowed our family the relief of having a very respectful and appropriate time with our loved one, while honoring a beautiful life. All details were tended to in a timely manner, and still are as we walk through business matterd. Don't be fooled by grandiose funeral chapels surrounded by lots of asphalt that may currently be the most popular place to go but if you were wise, you'd drive right on by and head to Burns Kish Funeral Home, a long trusted, an established company that has a great reputation to back it.
We had a funeral go through Burns Kish and we were most satisfied and pleased but like fools we didn't go to where we were treated honestly, professionally and respectively the next time a death occurs. Instead of staying with Burns Kish, we drove up the street where our family trust was violated

Kind and compassionate, Emily and Brian were great in helping us plan services for our Father. They assisted with the newspaper for obit, church, florists, video, etc. and every detail was noted. The facility is clean, welcoming and warm. The Cafe’ area for family members to take a break is a great bonus. Those can be long days and nights, so that was really Nice! We have a lot of family from Chicago, so the location was perfect for family members to get off of the expressway and find the funeral home in Munster.
