My home is here and after an accident that put me in the hospital and nursing home in Arizona. When I was able to come home I had to decide what nursing home. I will tell you I got the Hilton compared to where I was in Arizona.
Prarie Heights was our choice. I can’t say enough good. The staff is amazing. Their therapy program is amazing. Food was good.
Thank you for taking such good care of me. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again if I had to.

My stay at Prairie Heights was unplanned. When I got over being away from my husband I came to realize it was for my own good. Everyone knew my name.it made you feel like they really knew you. The accommodations were comfortable for me. The therapy staff was loving & very caring. They even surprised me by singing Happy Birthday. The food was different than what I was used to, but I made do. At first I was bummed by short visiting hours, but we made it work. All in all, I left Prairie Hights a new person with a repaired heart...❤️

This facility continues to use COVID policy as an excuse to prevent loved ones from seeing patients, even after 100% of the people and residents who have wanted COVID vaccines have received them. It seems they use it as an excuse to allow only 3 people a max of 20 minutes of visitation a week. In the mean time our loved one is in horrible mental condition as they lock him in his room. I realize there are CDC guidelines but this facility has taken it much too far. Yes, there was a time to protect the patients from COVID but now that vaccines have been administered, better, more open visitation should

My sister has been at Prarie Heights Healthcare for 7 1/2 years. She has received excellent care from the staff. She has so many that she calls her friends. They have been so good to be careful thru this pandemic. They have done an excellent job keeping the residents feeling safe. It’s been a stressful time for all involved. She definitely feels like it’s her home and their her family. Thank you for all you do ❤️

In response to the very negative comments made regarding my home (and Prairie Heights is my home) I would like to make it very clear that I am not a prisoner, and in the five years that I have lived here, I’ve been treated with kindness, respect and love. Even though I haven’t been able to be hugged by my family, I have been hugged very often by one of the staff. They are very aware of the need we as residents have to be close to our families and are making steps so that, one day soon, all that will be possible. My mother-in-law has been a resident of Prairie Heights on two separate occasions, plus she’s also been an out patient for rehab pre-COVID. The staff, from housekeeping to therapists and kitchen help to CNAs, has always gone above and beyond in administering care to my mother in-law. We had always heard that the rehab facility was the best in Aberdeen. Now, after having a loved one there we can totally see why. Prairie Heights truly puts their residents needs front and center. I came to Prairie Heights for therapy after breaking my hip. This place is great, the therapy department is totally focused on the patient, and striving for the best result. I am able to go home 2 weeks after surgery with the confidence that I will continue to get stronger and independent. The patient care is top notch, with staff that is helpful and caring. I can't say enough about the excellent care I got there.

After my dad's surgery, we found out he would have to go to a nursing home for rehab. He chose ManorCare and I agreed, because of Mike Hansen and his excellent therapy team. He has been getting the best care and therapy, and he is on his way to recovery. It's possible that he could even go home at the end of this month. Each and everyone of the therapy staff has been so good with him. He even looks forward to going to therapy! The Admissions Director and Social Worker were excellent to work with. I came to Prairie Heights Healthcare because I broke my back. I've been here before and had great results, so I knew that this is where I wanted to come again. I think they have the best therapy in South Dakota. The therapists are good. They are friendly and are trying to help me as much as they can. The facility is very well kept, clean and neat. This fall they held a picnic for us and our families. We had a great time. The food was so good. I am so satisfied with my care.
