Services
Dr. Lopez grew up in State College, PA and received his bachelor's degree in biology/pre-med from Susquehanna University in 1989. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1993. After practicing in State College for two years, Dr. Lopez joined the Clearfield practice of Dr. Gerald Kempner in 1995, and took over the practice in 1996.
We do comprehensive examinations for patients of all ages. Yes, even children under 3! Our examinations include a detailed health and ocular history, a medical evaluation of the health of your eyes to rule out any eye diseases, and of course the refraction, which enables the doctor to formulate an eyeglass prescription for you.
Our stunning optical boutique features over 600 frames. We carry both designer labels and more budget minded frames. We truly have frames for everyone, in fact we are one of the few opticals in the region that carry frames for children as young as one year of age! Other than our Value-Line package, we use premium lenses and lens coatings such as polycarbonate and high index plastic lenses for safer, thinner and more attractive lenses.
The easiest way to determine if we take your insurance and if you are eligible for services is to give our office a call. Please have your insurance cards available when you call and visit our office. These plans, such as Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Geisinger, Health America, UPMC, will cover office visits and tests at our office for medically related eye problems.
We are conveniently located in downtown Clearfield, right across from the post office on Pine Street. The easiest way to get to our office is to come into downtown, drive down 2nd Street and take a left at the post office onto Pine Street. Our building and parking lot are on the right hand side. If you are traveling west on Rt. 322, continue towards town until you hit the light at the CVS pharmacy.

I was happy with the doctor and the person fitting the glasses. However when I noticed that the pupillary distance was not on the paper copy of my prescription, I called to find out what it is. The receptionist says they won't give out that information, I had just picked up my glasses there and they had to know what it is to order them. This is bad customer relations, and I won't be going back if this is not resolved.

I’ve been coming here to Dr. Lopez for years now. Dr. Lopez & his staff are so kind, friendly & welcoming. They always make me feel comfortable. The have a great selection of glasses, ranging from cheaper to more expensive. They also let you take your time when looking for glasses, they don’t make you feel rushed at all! I’ll continue coming to Dr Lopez for many more years!
