I love Dekes Market. It is within walking distance from where I live making it convenient for picking up any items last

No fresh made sandwiches when I went at supper time and for the time being they are stopping making fresh sandwiches after lunch. There were cold sandwiches in the case but the bread usually is soggy in those kinds of sandwiches - though I didn't try them from this place

Contactless payment, deli, beer, wine, cigarettes, ice cream, coffee and phenomenal sandwiches made to order and pre made to grab n go. Owner operator and when he’s not there he has a solid friendly staff, very friendly. Beverage selection is tops and has propane gas for bbq grill as well as dogs and other snacks to grill if you forgot it. Very reasonable price considering it’s 2 blocks to the beach.

Friendly service, tasty sandwiches, freshly made or pre made for you to grab and go in the cooler if you don't have time to wait for your individually crafted sandwich. Very filling. Try the tri tip, they BBQ it on site.

Love the nostalgic feel of this old time, well stocked grocer. It has lots of character, is vey clean, staff are warm and helpful AND they have lottery. A true Santa Cruz treasure.

Deke’s is back and just as great as ever! I love the sandwiches from the deli. I had a warm tri-tip sandwich and it was great! Amazing beer and wine selection and pretty much anything you need when headed off to the beach. Great vibe and friendly staff!!!!!

We were looking for a good sandwich shop, and this place advertised as "the best sandwiches in town." It's more of a liquor store type thing than a market (lots of miscellaneous items in single use sizes), and the "deli" was a little corner in the back that was closed so I have no idea if the sandwiches were good or not. We just grabbed a soda before leaving in search of food again, and it was a little over priced.

Amazing, delicious sandwich!! The produce was hearty and fresh. There was plenty of meat and the bread was fresh and yummy too. The service = top notch friendly, attentive, fast. Store is clean, easy parking. Overall my first visit I am a total fan, will definitely be going back, and recommending to friends/family. I was craving hard for a REALLY good deli sandwich, and they totally rocked my world!
And staff really left a great impression with friendly attitude and cheerful attentiveness, it really made my day!
