In 2014, we embarked on an educational journey that has helped us help you even more. Not only do we rely on our extensive training to teach you Joseph Pilates' work, but we also employ the latest scientific research on spine safety, proper biomechanics and brain science to inform your customized session and thereby help you function even better and stronger in the world.

We build core strength in the body by first identifying then engaging and exploiting the proper muscles to stabilize and protect your spine. We teach you where functional movement comes from so that you can make the most out of your time in the studio to enhance all of the activities you enjoy. We photo document your progress so that you have tangible proof of how Pilates has changed your body for the better.

Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates' protegee says pilates is simply: Strength and Stretch with Control. What creates strength? Pilates builds and stretches muscles through cocentric, eccentric and isometric contractions. These contractions create stretch in the opposing muscle groups. The result is a longer, stronger muscle.
Joseph Pilates defined fitness as "the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many varied and daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure." Joseph Pilates was born in Germany, a frail and weak child with asthma and rickets.
