Whether you are installing a complete lawn or just filling in low spots, it makes sense to use the best topsoil available. Our topsoil is brought up from our very own farm fields in the Little Miami River Valley. We shred our topsoil before each sale whereas our competitors shred their soil then stockpile it, which could lead to excess clumping.
Mulching your planting beds isn't the most fun household task, but it can be one of the most rewarding, especially when you use our Supreme Series of mulches. Our very own Midnight Magic Supreme is triple-processed, organic dark hardwood mulch. We grind it once then let it age for 12 to 16 months. Afterwards, we grind it again and process the finer material with a screening machine.
Choosing the correct type of compost can be a daunting task. There are so many different types available and sometimes you can't be sure of what you're buying. In Cincinnati it seems as if the only thing our yards have plenty of is clay. Adding special soil amendments can be the first step in improving your lawn and planting beds.
If you are using Hafner's topsoil or garden mix, then you are already starting your new lawn with the best foundation possible. So why use cheap grass seed? The grass seeds available at the big box stores don't meet the same quality standards as the products we offer, nor can you be sure that you are buying "fresh seed."
Whether it's firewood for the patio pit or to help with heating in the winter, Hafner's has you covered year-round. Our specially trained firewood crew processes all material on-site and ensures a strict mixed hardwood variety. Social distancing requirements prohibit us from stacking firewood within the large nylon super sacks that many or our customers have become accustomed to.
