Services
Pain management is particularly important for back pain patients, as back pain can influence your every-day life in a variety of ways. We understand the significance of this and work with you to integrate pain management into your overall approach for care. Take these medications only as directed by your doctor.
Pain management is particularly important for cancer patients, considering one in three patients continues to experience pain after treatment. If you have pain, the severity and prevalence of your pain may depend on many factors, including the type and stage of your cancer, your treatment plan and your tolerance for pain.
Take these medications only as directed by your doctor. Narcotics - Drugs containing opioids, such as oxycodone or hydrocodone, may be used for a short time with close supervision by your doctor. Antidepressants - Low doses of certain types of antidepressants - particularly tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline - have been shown to relieve some types of chronic back pain independent of their effect on depression.
In many cases, pain and medical disorders bring with them more than just physical discomfort. They are often associated with changes in your emotional state - including depression and anxiety. The role of a psychologist specializing in pain management is to address these losses and changes. Psychologists provide individuals with skills to assist them to manage their pain and control their lives.
Pain management is particularly important for facial pain patients, considering a majority of face pain can be caused by various neuralgia (or nerve) disorders. Neuralgia treatment usually starts with medications, and some people don't need any additional treatment. However, over time, some people with the condition may stop responding to medications, or they may experience unpleasant side effects.

The staff in New Bern and Jacksonville are outstanding. The service is great! Both my my wife and I go there. The providers know what they are doing. I had been to a different provider and when I changed I had a completely great response to the different treatment. My quality of life is greatly improved!

Couldn't live without them! I was hesitant to go to a Pain Management Facility following a horrible auto accident I was in since I had never been to a Pain Management Facility before. But it is one of the best decisions I made to go here after being referred to Pain Management by another doctor.. They have helped with my back and neck pain, also helped to get my terrible, long lasting headaches under control.Dr. Holder and Ms. Williams are absolutely wonderful professionals. After trying different techniques for my pain, they gave me options for me to choose from going forward.

I am currently sitting in room ten (10) awaiting my appointment that was scheduled at 10:30 am. The door was closed for over thirty minutes and I finally went to the desk and asked for an update. Professionally speaking when you have a patient in a room waiting and the doctor is running behind is not courteous to let the patient know and check on them as a staff. After all you know the doctor's schedule better than the patient. It is currently 11:14 which is well past my scheduled appointment time of 10:30 am. Still no update.

Every single appointment I have had with Mrs Williams has been amazing! She really does listen to her patients and do what she believes is best for them. Dr holder has been very nice and super professional when doing the injections and it’s really helped me get tons of relief. The only negative review I have is when I sleep an appointment time , it takes another half hour to be seen and I think if they’re behind they should inform the patients so there not feeling like their wasting their time but other than that I love this clinic.

Wonderful and very professional staff. Although Dr. Erin Chaney and nursing staff are wonderful and very professional with an actual sense of caring for the patients, I want to single out the young ladies that seat at the front desk where they received everyone that comes to the facility. Their great attitude, professionalism and smile makes everyone that enters a warm welcome. Kudos to the entire Johnston staff

I had an epidural block on my neck yesterday, The nurse that prepped me for the procedure was very friendly and informative. Giving me step by step instructions and expectations of the procedure. Dr. Erin Chaney was AWESOME! The entire procedure was almost painless. I honestly thought they were still prepping me when she said, "All done!" I highly recommend this office.
Also a shout out to PA Bruce Miller who did my initial intake before setting up my procedure appointment. He was thorough and helped me to go over my medical record. Very nice.

I have been a patient for over 17 yrs and they are some of the most professional and courteous people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. They look out for their patients and go the extra mile to take care of you. They have helped me through 2 disc replacements numerous back injections and a spinal cord stimulator. And have always tried to help me manage my pain.

I cannot say enough about how well my experiences have been over the past few years. Don't judge them on the first visit. There's several doctors and you may have to find the right "fit".
But I have always recieved great treatment from everyone....the front desk is also very professional, kind and friendly.

I've been going here since 2010 and I have to say that they have really taken great care of me. The staff and doctors treat me with respect and dignity but maintains a high level of professionalism. The customer service I have received has been outstanding and the doctors actually pay attention to my needs and concerns. I'm not on any pain meds but I do get injections and have had other procedures . They have taught me how to handle my pain and have managed the pain I do have. I highly recommend Johnston Pain Management if you have chronic pain issues.
