Services
The Southwestern region of Utah has experienced enormous growth over the past several decades. Many of the social support systems, long a part of Utah tradition, have been stressed by growing issues of mental illness, substance abuse, child abuse, youth crime, and lack of housing. The collective impact has left families and communities struggling to find answers with limited fiscal and professional capacity.
State licensed as a comprehensive mental health treatment provider, Southwest Behavioral Health Center provides outpatient therapy as a major part of its service continuum. Outpatient services are provided Monday through Friday. Appointments can be scheduled independently by each office. In some locations, Southwest Behavioral Health Center operates a separate youth outpatient program for treating childhood and adolescent mental health disorders.
State licensed as a comprehensive Substance Abuse Treatment Provider, Southwest Behavioral Health Center is the only provider in southwest Utah that can offer such a wide array of services to both youth and adults. Our staff members are trained to evaluate individual needs and to help determine the intensity of treatment that best meets the needs of the person.
Southwest Behavioral Health Center is the prepaid mental health provider for all Medicaid enrollees in the designated counties of Southwest Utah. If you live in the Center's service area (Beaver, Garfield, Kane, Iron or Washington counties), have a Medicaid card, and need mental health services (psychiatric, hospital or clinical), Southwest Behavioral Health Center is your provider.
Southwest Behavioral Health Center is a political subdivision of the State of Utah, created by means of an Inter-County Cooperative Agreement between the counties of Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Kane, and Washington. As such, the Center is supported, in part, by County, State and Federal dollars. All clients are expected to participate in the cost of care and treatment.
