Hot Rod Tattoos is the only custom professional tattoo studio serving its local community within a 7-mile radius. Our mission at HRT is to be different on purpose. Which is why we take pride in collaborating ideas with you to accomplish a unique design; fitting your vision with the artist of your choice's style.
Body art is a great form of expression, and every tattoo tells a story as unique as the person it's on. For us, each session is an opportunity to create a new masterpiece. Our talented artists are extremely passionate about what they do and are constantly improving upon their already tremendous skills.
We accept walk-ins, but if you are looking to have a big piece done, want a specific artist, or if you have a tight schedule, an appointment would be better. We do a consultation for each tattoo, whether you need a separate consultation appointment will depend on the size of the piece. Call us for details.
With combined experience of over 20 years of art, customer service, creative design, tattooing, and business our artists are confident assisting you in designing and producing your quality tattoo. Our portfolios showcase tattoos in different styles such as American Traditional, Japanese, Bio-Mechanical, Portrait (black & gray or color), and new school or full color.
US Navy Veteran Mike has been tattooing since 2006 and takes great pride in giving his clients highly customized, great quality tattoo work. Customization is always at the forefront of Mike's mind, and he strives to make each piece uniquely tailored to each client's sense of individuality. He can tattoo many styles but does supremely well on portrait and black and grey work.

I have to say. Mike is truly incredible. I wanted to cover a old tattoo with something specific. I gave him some ideas and he ran with it. The end result is truly incredible. Words cannot explain how grateful I am to Mike. He nailed it with a tattoo that is close to my heart. Mike is my guy from here on out. The environment was extremely clean and welcoming. Went to get a tattoo fixed and Mike the owner was more concerned with his phone than my arm. Didn’t fill in the color all the way. Said if I wanted that it’ll be extra but money wasn’t the issue. I did want it filled in obviously, he didn’t wanna do it. Just lazy that day I guess. Personal problems are temporary, my art is forever but I got it fixed (again) from another artist in Sanford and they even thought that was ridiculous. Wouldn't recommend. Idk how the other artists, I never met them but wasn’t satisfied with the owners work or attitude.

Sarah and Mike are awesome! Very professional and welcoming. Sarah did my wife's and my tattoos. Highly recommend them to anyone for first time ink or additional. Prices are not bad. Don’t go anywhere else! Mike and his team are extremely talented, approachable, and have fair pricing. They were flexible with their scheduling and were even willing to improve a piece done previously at a different shop. They are veteran owned and family friendly. Highly recommend checking them out.

Went to Mike for a chest tattoo and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Mike is a true master at his craft and it shows with his attention to detail and great designs. The prices were fair for such great work. Great establishment with great artists all around. I will be going back to mike for any future tattoos.

I have been going here for years. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. I have never had a bad experience. Mike and his wife Sarah are amazing. They are always so helpful. They make you feel like family. I’ve never had a tattoo that I didn’t love. I would never go anywhere else for a tattoo. Not only are they small business owners, but they are a huge part of their community. Really caring people. Always an awesome experience. I can’t say it enough!!

I'm the type of person who puts a lot of thought into their tattoos. I'm not the type who goes and gets a tattoo on a whim. That being said, I had a customer come into my gym sporting new ink. I asked them where they got it done at and was told about Mike at Hot Rod. After doing a little bit of research I messaged him on Hot Rods Facebook page. Almost immediately Ingot a response. I told him exactly what I was looking at getting and he welcomed me to come to his shop to talk about my idea in further detail. Upon arriving to Hot Rod I got a quick feel of the place; very clean, friendly

Mike and Sarah are AMAZING artists and know exactly what they are doing! I have received both tattoos from Sarah and I couldn't be more happier with the outcome! I have let her take free range with coloring and what she thinks would look best and couldn't be more satisfied. Not to mention reasonable pricing! It has to be in the right location also, right at the end of Buffalo lake rd, near Carolina Lakes and just minutes from Spring Lake and 87!
