Voodoo Monkey Tattoo

After trying to get in at a few other shops about a cover-up. One artist telling me he doesn’t feel comfortable doing one, then suggested laser removal. Another artist responding once and not responding again
When I lost all hope, I found voodoo monkey and Sean. Very professional, responded in timely matter and after my consultation, He came up with sketch that exceeded my expectations.
Tattoo is scheduled and I cannot wait. Thank you Sean. I look forward to working with you for this visit and many more.

I went to voodoo monkey on a spur of the moment decision, I follow alot of local shops on Instagram. I saw they were doing a flash event, A Lil Sting, with half the proceeds going to the Honeybee Conservancy!! I always wanted a honeybee tattoo, so it was perfect. The shop is beautiful everyone I encountered was professional and friendly, I went in the week before Christmas, so that is impressive considering how hectic this holiday season has been!! My artist was running a few minutes behind everyone was incredible about making sure I was comfortable and keeping me updated until he arrived.

Andre Burton is the most rude artist I ever meet. Showed him a picture, ask him to draw as similar as possible if he can. He never showed me how it came out, until the day of. I didn't agree, he got all upset and started mumbling bad words towards me. I ignored it. Then blame it on me that I didn't tell him that I wanted the same as the picture. End of the day, didn't get tattoo by him. We talk through email, I guess he forgot all about the email. So, I lost $100 in deposit.

The staff was incredibly rude. It was our first time getting tattoos and we were made to feel very uncomfortable. I was extremely nervous before coming and a few days before my appointment, I was going back and forth with the tattooist via email to finalize a design. I'm indecisive and expressed that to him, which he responded "go with the first design since it's already drawn up. The second is too small" and "please know what you want, I don't want to have to change up designs last minute". Mind you these were very small simple tattoos (initials and 2 small words

Heard great things and all the work I've seen looks fantastic. I'm sure it's a top notch place. I was going to be in town for a few days and tried 3 days in a row to get an appointment or a walk in. First time I called they took my info and never called back. Next day the guy I spoke to seemed annoyed to even be talking to me, told me to just check the day I was going to be there and try for a walk-in. Day three spoke to a girl who was super friendly and said it should be no problem and took my info. No call back...I was nearby so stopped in to check. She said they were finishing

Great experience. Voodoo Monkey for the win. Nelson was amazing! Everyone I came into contact with was nothing short of superb. I highly recommend this place and next time I'm in town I will visit again.

I have been attempting to get a tattoo since the beginning of 2020 and this will be my first one. I was trying to schedule with artists friends recommended and I found I kept chasing them down or getting routed to other artists who's style didn't fit the tattoo I was looking for. I finally was able to contact an artist who said he would contact me when he was back from vacation. I contacted him again when he didn't contact me and finally got to schedule the appointment. My sisters and I were on a birthday weekend trip and spontaneously decided to get tattoos. We found the Voodoo site and gave him a call and he took us as walk-ins. The owner was extremely friendly and professional and was able to tattoo all 5 of us. It was an awesome experience and made our trip even more memorable!

Voodoo Monkey is an incredible establishment with extremely talented artists. I met with Natalie back in February about a design I was interested in and she helped bring it to fruition. She made my first tattoo experience a positive one through her talent and professionalism.

I am happy that I chose Voodoo Monkey to be my first tattoo shop; I would recommend anyone new or experienced in the tattoo world to check this place out.

After reading these reviews, I decided to head over to Voodoo Monkey Tattoo a few weeks ago. I saw that they took walk-ins on their website, so I tried my luck on a Friday evening. I only waited a few minutes until Nelson was ready for me. What a funny dude! He did an excellent job, and made sure everything was exactly as I wanted. It was my first tattoo, and it came out perfectly. I have zero complaints and would go back in a heartbeat.

I have been trying to get this tattoo for years and finally decided to reach out to some places for an appointment. While I had issues with scheduling with other studios, Natalie was prompt in her response and was able to fit us in right away and she handled my concerns and my sisters concerns promptly and with professionalism. It was such a smooth process and my tattoo is healing so well. I have gotten so many compliments:) very good experience from start to finish. She even offers touch ups if there are any issues. I would highly recommend.

I told John Forgus the elements that I wanted in my tattoo and he created a beautiful work of art. I'm on the west coast now and when someone asks where I got my tattoo I tell them to head to Cleveland!

I deleted my previous review after going to my appointment. A rocky start at first but once we got settled I must say that I was impressed. Nelson is nice and laid back & he only talks if you talk to him; he gives you space if you're not a talker. He was able to answer all the questions I had & for someone being in the business about 10 years, he knows his stuff. Nelson eased my mind because I was pressed for time (we had a late start) but he finished both my tattoos & I made it home in the nick of time. I will be back.

I am a walking billboard promoting the amazing work done at Voodoo Monkey. I've been going to the same artist (Sean jaundice) since I was 19. 10 years later and countless hours under the needle and here we are today. Dave did a great job on my tattoos. Not surprised. They are Cleveland’s best and I’ve known him since high school. Great music, very comfortable space.

I have had two tattoos done here, both were beautiful, but when I asked Natalie to schedule me for another one, she told me she was being selective about which tattoos she is willing to spend her time on and my tattoo did not make the cut. That was frustrating and irritating but I moved on to Nelson and asked him to schedule me. His response was I had to drive all the way there (a 40 minute drive for me) because he wanted me to give him a deposit and we needed to "discuss" my tattoo. I've never experienced a 90s tattoo shop... but Voodoo Monkey Tattoo Parlor has that classic tattoo shop feeling... A good front desk person, they're very responsive & professional... I've gotten work here 3 times so far & definitely plan on returning... One of Cleveland's gems... Definitely a beautiful place imo.. I've gotten work by Sean Jaundice & another artist who's no longer there. & on all occasions I've received quality service.. & some highly cherished quality tatts...

World class shop and tattooists at Voodoo Monkey! I work with Eric Kaplan here, and he has now done absolutely AMAZING work on both arms for me...pics attached. Eric even called me yesterday to get me in earlier because the appointment ahead of me no call/no showed (and then posted a 2 star review, of all things), and so we were able to do the entire Two Wolves piece in a single sitting. I have sat for a total of 5 sessions and almost 25 hours here now, and have had the opportunity to see work from most of their staff during those visits and they are all tremendously talented. First class operation

I took my daughter for her first tattoo to Dave. I picked Voodoo Monkey because I wanted a place with great reviews. The internet did not lie! It's a great shop. Awesome location right by west side market. It's was clean, organized, private and you could tell they had experience in doing things right.

Came to voodoo monkey for my fourth tattoo, the artist did a great job. Was here with a friend of mine , she got 2 tattoos and loved them booth. Not that expensive, would recommend to people. Expect to wait a while, they always seem to be busy.

John did my son's first tattoo !! He is a great artist he took a simple drawing and turned it into a work of art. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get an amazing tattoo

This post recieved 5 stars mostly because of Eric the tatooist. He tattoos both my wife and I, he is artistic , great listener but a straight shooter. LOVE IT!

While tattooing he puts you at ease with conversations and really tries to build a rapport with you.

One time he scheduled my wife and I for one full work day (8 hrs) he did my sleeve and my wife's half sleeve...he was completely motivated the entire time!

I will definitely continue to go to voodoo monkey as long as Eric works there. If he leaves I will follow him.

Also, the place was extremely clean and everything was sterile
