Florida Skincare Testing
Analysis with state-of-the-art instrumentation confirms concentration and purity of many ingredients through validated methods. FSTI microbiology checks preservative effectiveness against bacteria, yeasts and molds. Immediate processing maintains manufacturing efficiency. FDA Critical Wavelength, COLIPA 2011, and ISO 24443 broad spectrum sun protection tests are conducted.

Accurate efficacy studies involve perfectly calibrated instrumental measurements and professional clinical assessment. This research conducted on human panelists confirms a formula's Sun Protection Factor or substantiates other suncare claims such as water resistance. FSTI also performs specialized trials in outdoor light and "real world" conditions.
Services
Founded in 2008, Florida Skincare Testing began as a clinical laboratory under the name Florida Suncare Testing, Inc. Today, the company's broad scientific scope does research under the "skincare" name because it provides independent analytical and clinical examination for the OTC, cosmetic, personal care, and protective clothing industries.
Florida Skincare Testing provides a broad array of analytical services for product development and production quality assurance. Promptly confirming the content of OTC compounds in dermatological formulas facilitates efficient manufacturing processes and confirms long term efficacy. The list of active ingredients FSTI analyzes is long and diverse - from OTCs like Lidocaine and Salicylic Acid to most sunscreens.
All SPF tests are graded on a blind basis, i.e., the identity of the test product or projected SPF value is not known by the grader, thus the test results are completely objective.

UVA In-Vivo testing is conducted by means of persistent pigment darkening in accordance with the regulatory requirements set for by the Japan Cosmetic Industry Association, JCIA, Measurement Standards for UVA Protection, 1999 or the ISO 24442, In-Vivo determination of sunscreen UVA protection, ISO24442:2011(E).Efficacy studies involve instrumental measurements and clinical assessment.
Florida Skincare Testing performs a variety of analytic testes associated with sunscreen formulas. The IMS division utilizes VitroSkin(R) substrates. Pre-clinical testing through this analytical method allows a rapid understanding of the SPF value before a full clinical test is conducted. Other in vitro tests with synthetic substrates can also accelerate your development process.
Florida Skincare Testing, Inc. has carefully tested on the skin of participants since 2008. Panelists earn extra cash in a safe and comfortable clinical setting. The primary evaluations involve the determination of sun protection factor (SPF) and water resistance of sunscreens. FSTI is always looking for men and women to participate in upcoming studies.
