Services
As part of a full faith formation process, students at Holy Spirit High School are required to participate in meaningful service to others. Students are encouraged and expected to reach out to the needs of their fellow students, their faith communities, local non-profit agencies and civic organizations in the surrounding counties.
Holy Spirit High School opened her doors in 1922 on Massachusetts Avenue in Atlantic City, and in 2014 celebrated her 50th Anniversary in Absecon, New Jersey. Holy Spirit High School provides an outstanding academic experience, rich in tradition, with the uniqueness of a values-based Catholic Education to the young people of South Jersey.
Rooted in our Catholic identity, Holy Spirit High School educates and inspires the entire person, mind, body, and spirit, while fostering academic success and a culture of service.
As declared by the Holy Father, Pope Francis, "the education of children and young people is such an important task in forming them as free and responsible human beings.it is especially the duty and responsibility of the Church, who is called to serve mankind from the heart of God."

Holy Spirit uses the Decile System for academic ranking based on GPA. The 1st Decile is the top 10% of the class; the second decile is the top 20% of the class, etc. GPA is calculated as weighted and unweighted. For weighted GPA, top weight is given to Advanced Placement courses; total points are divided by the number of credits attempted.
The Program of Studies provides students with a reference guide for long-range course scheduling. This booklet is designed to help students and parents, together with counselors and teachers, develop the best possible program for each student at Holy Spirit High School. All students are required to meet the minimum state graduation requirements in order to receive a diploma.

Though not an alumni -I wish I had the same experience that both my children did. The faith, family, and friendships that were forged will always be at the core of my boys. Holy Spirit was the best high school choice that we could have ever made. Their journey into adulthood was made better because of what Holy Spirit offered. It was more than school it became and always will be family .

Class of 1971 graduate. Great school, made me work, hard. Took me a while though, always remember getting a 10/100 on a quiz in Mrs Barrett's Biology class because I did not memorize the parts of a cell. Grateful, for all the learning during my 4 yrs there. Wished I had read more. Reading truly is fundamental.
