One of the primary roles of a Surveyor is to determine the boundaries of real property on the ground. The boundary has already been established and described in legal documents (deeds), possibly shown on prior survey plans or maps, and is likely recorded in your local registry. The corners of the property will either have been marked by a prior surveyor, property owner, or there may be no markers at all.

We needed a survey done of our property and NORSE was not only prompt in their reply, they were thoroughly detailed, answered all our follow up questions, and we scheduled our site visit. It took two days to plot our 3 acres. they located pins that were lost for 40 years, replaced pins that were missing, marked all 4 boundary corners, walked the property lines with us, and were in a word WONDERFUL.
