We know Alaska logistics, Alaska freight forwarding and Alaska - we have what it takes to transport your freight and shipments to, from, and around the state of Alaska. Span Alaska moves more LTL (less than truckload) freight than any other carrier between the lower 48 and Alaska-for several good reasons.
We have the equipment, the people, and the experience with Lower 48 carriers and ocean carriers necessary to transport freight quickly and efficiently. Our long term connections enable us to consistently provide the highest value of service and the ability get things done that others simply cannot.

Services
Span Alaska began in 1978 as a vision from one of the most respected people in the industry. Ray Landry was one of the most respected people in the Alaska freight industry even before he formed Span Alaska Consolidators in 1978. With 30 years of experience with the major players in the industry, Ray applied all his knowledge and insight to launching and developing the kind of company he knew would best serve Alaskans.
To be recognized by our customers as providing the highest level of service and reliability in the Alaska marketplace. Span Alaska has been proudly serving Alaska since 1978 with a simple philosophy that's proven itself for more than three decades: honesty and integrity, attention to detail, and plain ol' good service just make for good business.
We understand Alaska - and we have everything it takes to transport your shipments to, from, and around the state. Not only do we constantly recruit and retain great people with in-depth knowledge of the transportation industry, we empower them to make on-the-spot decisions. In addition, Span Alaska owners and top-level management are highly accessible and actively involved in the company on a daily basis.
It is our policy to provide and maintain safe working conditions and to follow operating practices that will safeguard all employees. Span Alaska conducts monthly safety meetings, provides continuous training, and actively monitors safety and compliance for all employees. No job will be considered properly completed unless it is performed in a safe manner.
A major winter storm system has developed in the Gulf of Alaska bringing with it hurricane-force winds and heavy seas. As a regular part of our Alaska service, SPAN provides specialized equipment to protect your shipments from freezing. Due to the delayed arrival of the Matson Anchorage 185N to the Port of Alaska the decision was made to bypass Kodiak, in order to get the vessel back on schedule.

In the last few months, I have contracted with Span Alaska twice for shipping kayaks from the Lower 48 to my residence in Eagle River, Alaska. One of the shipments was my first LTL-drop shipping experience, so there was much for me to learn. SA was patient and provided all the communication I needed to make it work, before shipment and during the shipment from the Lower 48 sellers. Both shipments executed just as they should have, timely and with my purchases arriving in great condition. I highly recommend this company.

Do not use spanalaska to ship anything. I have used them twice and the second time cost me over $300 in product I had to replace. When I went to pick up my boxes from them the guy slid them from the far end of the shop to the loading dock. Everything inside was damaged. Not only did I have to re purchase my items but spanalaska also wouldn't even cover the shipping cost to reship items they destroyed. Don't use this company unless you want your packages ruined!!

The office takes a few minutes to get all your paperwork straight. But the guys out on the floor usually get you unloaded pretty darn fast. Well checking in just stand patiently and quiet against the wall. They will eventually yell next when it's your turn. Out on the dock just stand by your truck until they come to you , this is the way it works around there. Just be patient
