To better serve our growing community of patients, we've officially opened our long-awaited Massapequa location! Living with arthritis can have a major impact on the way you perform your daily activities. In the simplest terms, arthritis is an inflammation of the joint area. This inflammation often results in pain, swelling and stiffness in many patients. There are many different types of arthritis. Two of the most common ones are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Easily the most advanced imaging technology available, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, also known as MRI's, are useful is the diagnosis of various orthopedic or musculoskeletal disorders. This comprehensive imaging system allows doctors to visibly see various body structures that other imaging technologies cannot.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place used to be great and I don’t know what happened. I have been a patient since I was a child, so about 20 years now, and never had any issues until I injured my back in a car accident back in 2019. Staff are rude and unresponsive or they harass you when they want something from you. Mistakes are constantly being made in the office and it is almost impossible to get a hold of someone to fix the issues. Departments do no communicate with each other leaving patients frustrated. You’re appointments will be cancelled last minute and when they are able to get you in for an

I had to have surgery for a broken ankle and all I can say is that Dr. Hushmendy, who did the external fixator, and Dr. Duarte, who did the main ankle surgery, were amazing. Everything started with an ER visit at Plainview Hospital and by some pure luck, I was assigned to them. They performed all the required surgeries and follow ups for my complex condition. Sure, you can go and see these doctors for all sort of issues, complicated or not, but believe me when I say that Dr. Duarte is part of a different class of orthopedic surgeons. If you have an ankle issue, make sure you see him before deciding

First time patient I visited the massapequa office. I had first appointment in the morning. The office was clean and seemed to run efficiently. After filing initial paperwork I was seen promptly and had x rays and saw the doctor with 20 minutes. Doctor was professional and knowledgeable of my issue and sent me for further nerve testing. I will follow up as I more experiences with this office however based on initial visit I would recommend it .

Came here with a sprained ankle. Could not have asked for a better, more comprehensive service.
The orthopedic office upstairs is where I started. Doctors were knowledgeable, precise, confident. From the outcome, I know their judgement was spot on. While other urgent cases I went to seemed unsure, Dr Keschner here was confident it was a sprain, not re-fracture. The recovery proved him right.
2 weeks later - I graduated from upstairs to the physical therapy downstairs. This is where I was really impressed. They were - as the team goes - firm but gentle. I spent just over an hour of active work

Do NOT see Dr PrietoDuarte!! He is unscrupulous and unprofessional! He only wanted me to agree to unwarranted surgery and refused to answer any questions about why he thought it the best option. He pressed the surgery by insisting it must be scheduled that very same week. When I asked for some time to think about it, he said “you cannot wait.” Thank goodness I refused, left central orthopedic group offices, never to return. I strongly recommend that you run ( or hobble) to somebody else.
P.S. I did not need surgery. Had a boot. Healing well.

Dr. Robert Carter is really one of the most awesome physicians I’ve ever encountered! He’s friendly/witty, he’s very smart/sharp; he truly listens to his patient for their collaborative thoughts on their treatment! He’s just plain “good people” and I feel lucky to know him for our families’ orthopedic needs. Dr Carter’s staff reflects the kind of person he is: kind and professional! The staff are always very pleasant & accommodating. The wait time is well....I’ve never waited more than 3-5 min!! Dr Mathen is a miracle worker!! He’s an amazing surgeon!! Being out of work, you get the hassle and frustration of completing paperwork in order to get paid. This office has made my time off from work, less stressful and more at ease. Everyone has been a great help with completing my forms, Dr. Carter is amazing and very passionate about his work and his patients. His assistant, Priscilla is the most helpful person I've met in a long time. I love this office and suggest that if anyone is in need of a great Orthopedic Surgeon, go to them!!!!
