Services
Midwest Dermatology specializes in treating general dermatology and common conditions that affect skin in various areas of the body. Resolving skin diseases that result in inflammation, including all forms of acne, rashes and rash-like conditions. Treating symptoms and preventing flare-ups of chronic skin conditions and diseases, including psoriasis and eczema.
Acne is a skin disease - not something that you just outgrow. It affects 40 to 50 million Americans of all ages, making it the most common skin disorder in the United States. Acne happens when the body's hormones cause an overproduction of sebum, or oil, to flow to the skin's surface. Blackheads occur when oil and dead skin cells become caught in the follicle.
No matter what your skin tone is or how old you are, you may be seeing patches of darker, pigmented skin show up on your face, your arms or legs, or other parts of your body. These patches, commonly called brown spots, may be caused by aging, medication, sunlight or a combination of other lifestyle or genetic factors.
Excess sweat, also called hyperhidrosis, is a very real problem affecting up to 3% of the population. Hyperhidrosis often occurs in people with no other medical conditions. In these cases, it is genetic. If you sweat excessively, chances are someone else in your immediate family sweats as well. Excessive sweat can be a side effect of a more chronic condition, such as hyperthyroidism, diabetic hypoglycemia, general anxiety disorder, or menopause.
When it comes to fungus of the skin, it's all over the map. From your scalp to your toes and many stops in between, fungal infections are often itchy and sometimes painful. Your skin may flake, blister, and crack. You may get a secondary infection, from an open blister or from scratching until your skin is raw.

Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. I never felt uncomfortable, even as a first-time patient, and felt confident I was in good care. I was provided a variety of solutions for my diagnosis and was comfortably informed what each entailed (without being overwhelmed).

I have never been to the dermatologist but had a couple concerning spots so I got Dr Justin Madson's name off a recommendation on the Nextdoor app. It was no wonder he has received glowing recommendations in the past. I arrived 15 minutes early to complete the new patient forms (easily done on an IPad). Not more than 5 minutes after turning in the IPad I was seen. The doctor was in the room within the next 5 minutes. He answered all of my questions and took care of the spots right then and there. His bedside manner was wonderful and so was his nurse's. I wish all doctor visits went so smoothly

Worth the wait...I had a significant wait for my new patient appt. and was unsure about this provider at first. But the dermatologist is awesome, very helpful and friendly, as are the nurses. They explain your conditions to you so you can understand them and are good about writing and refilling prescriptions. They have helped me with my HSA several times. I'm very happy with the treatment I've received and would recommend this dermatologist to others.

Scam. I confirmed with front desk the average going rate. Received the bill a month later, and it was at least $50 dollars more than the average dermatologist. Dr. Darling dismissed my previous diagnosis and prescription that had been steadily working. She started a whole new regiment, which I told her I did not want. The entire visit, they did not listen to my ONLY request. I left feeling like I was screaming in the middle of a crowded room and no one was listening. This is not the type of dermatologist you want.

This place doe NOT deserve any stars. I was insulted at this office by Doctor Luckasen. It was my first time going to this place and I am furious with how I was treated. I was early for my appointment and had to wait 30+ minutes just to get into a room. The nurse was nice, but doctor Luckasen barged into the room, not even introducing himself, and say's what's your problem. I had a lump on my arm about the size of quarter that my general doctor told me to get checked out because it was growing larger in size. I lifted up my arm and Doctor Luckasen who was standing a good three feet away

I was referred to Midwest Dermatology by my doctor to check out a "pimple" on my left nostril. The front staff and nurses are wonderful! I was seen by Dr. Darling, and I was (and still am) amazed at her fantastic care and professionalism! The diagnosis was skin cancer, resulting my having MOHS surgery being performed. While the initial results right after the surgery was shocking, Dr. Darling and her staff assured me it would heal with very minimal to no scarring. I also had some "age spots" frozen at the same time, so needless to say I would not have passed any beauty contests
