Camp Foley is a family-owned and operated summer camp that has entered its 9th decade. On a daily basis, your kids will have interaction (maybe share a meal, make homemade ice cream or play a game) with Marie, our owner/executive director and her daughter Alli, who is a 3rd generation summer camp director (and most likely at the lake or star gazing at night).

Father John P. Foley established and built Camp St. Thomas in 1924 and welcomed the first campers (boys) in the summer of 1925. During that summer there were a total of five buildings at camp. The name of the camp later changed to Father Foley's Camp for Boys. In the early years, Father Foley made a promise to the Blessed Virgin that if camp was successful he would build and dedicate a chapel.
With contributions by Campers, Staff, Directors, Parents and outside sources, the Rattlin' Blog is your one-stop-shop for all things camp. See videos, read what kids have to say about camp and find out about camp culture. Today we are shining the spotlight on modern Fencing here at Camp! Fencing was first brought to Camp Foley by Rivers Patout, with the only equipment being 2 sabres and 2 masks, not even a jacket!.

Sent my daughter there and she was scarred for life. She said that the ticks there were scary. She said the old woman got her in trouble. She has only 2 friends and she didn’t have any in her cabin. There were bugs in the cabin and she said. She almost fractured her foot when she was walking up to grill hot dogs, ouch. She said it almost felt like they forced you to do the stuff there. She didn’t want to do the climbing but they forced her to do it. She said that the only positive thing was the food. I wish I never sent her there and I feel very sorry for her. She had to go through that for

Where do I even start? This place was a highlight of my childhood. Of course the amount and variety of activites is incredible. A full schedule of new experiences and skills learned every day. Working here, I saw campers blossom emotionally and physically. Especially important now, they disconnect from their phones and develope excelent social awareness. Friendships based in understanding and respect are fostered at every opportunity. And, they are always updating their activities to cater to the needs of new generations. It is so special to watch their confidence and leadership sky rocket.

We held our wedding this fall at Camp Foley and it was truly perfect for what we were hoping for our up north MN wedding! The setting is gorgeous and the staff are amazing. Marie and her staff went above and beyond through the whole planning process and on the day to make sure we had a perfect day. They also worked with us through the covid chaos to ensure we had a safe wedding for our guests to attend. Thank you so much Foley team!

All 3 of my children have gone to Camp Foley and absolutely loved it! The staff is fantastic, the setting is beautiful, there are a wide range of activities, and it’s such a great place for kids to “just be kids.” They’ve made wonderful friends and truly grown as individuals through their camp experiences. I highly recommend Camp Foley.

I was a camper at Foley for 7 years and a counselor for 3. I have gone to other camps, but there is no place like Foley. The biggest thing I took away from my time at Foley wasn't the memories or all the fun I had, but how it helped me grow as a child and young adult. I don't think there is a better way to reflect my experience at Camp Foley than through their motto, "Grow Grit. Investigate Independence." The administration truly tries to help you find yourself and gain confidence in a variety of areas, no matter what age or how many years you've attended. Whether it&apos

Camp Foley should be considered one of the wonders of this world! This Minnesota summer camp, in my humble opinion, is the best this state has to offer. I have attended as a camper for seven years and they have given me some of the best memories of my life. I truly love this place and couldn't imagine a better place to develop life skills such as responsibility, caring, respect, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship. Those are the six values of camp that help to encourage campers to be the best they can be, and let this be a testament to that. In addition, the LIT and CIT programs offered
