Community is our greatest strength. We relied on our resilience for strength when we had to be apart. Now that we are back together for the 2021-22 school year, we are focused on forging connections with one another and rebuilding our strong sense of community. We invite you to visit us to see this community in action.

Congratulations to University High School seniors Jeremy Smart, Leanne Alsatie, Shay Orentlicher, Aisha Kokan, and Max Pfeffer, who were named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program this month. These five University High School seniors will continue. Last month, the College Board released the names of the University High School students who received 2021 AP Scholar Awards.

Imagine a place where teenagers are accepted and respected for who they are, where teachers are as friendly and approachable as they are qualified and educated, where every student visitor is greeted with an enthusiastic round of applause. Imagine a place where students and teachers openly treat one another with respect, support, and trust.
The 2021-22 school year will be here soon! Whether you are an incoming freshman ready to begin your high school journey or a senior ready to soak in your final year of high school, we are excited to welcome you to University this fall! We will begin the 2021-22 school year fully in person, which means we will be unable to enforce social distancing this year.
As we enter our second decade, University has become a premier college preparatory school in Central Indiana.

Signature programs like one-to-one mentoring, daily community meetings, and January Term create the unique culture of our school, our faculty are recognized as leaders in their content areas and in the practice of education, and several schools, some much older than us, are looking to University for inspiration in an increasing complex educational landscape. And, to aid in all our work, University has a tremendous asset: its heart.
University High School promotes an atmosphere of openness in which students can exchange ideas. We are proud of our small community and of the ways in which we are a diverse community. Diversity is fundamental to the mission of University High School. We reach out to include people of different races, ethnicities, faiths, socioeconomic circumstances and education backgrounds.
In 2018, the University High School Board of Trustees completed an 18-month process of examining the needs of our campus over the next few decades, as our school grows to its end-state size.

This process was comprehensive, taking into account the goals of incorporating our land into the school's educational vision and making our campus a community asset for our neighbors, all while holding true to the mission and values that have grounded our school for nearly 20 years. The Trustees partnered with Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf, a respected Indianapolis-based architecture firm, to develop a Campus Master Plan.
