The Gilsulate 500XR system provides clients "the most cost effective and efficient in the country", "more than twice as efficient as a typical utility generating station." On a recent chilled water project +45,000 LF of pipe - our standard design was +26% more efficient than the specified pre-insulated system. A system designed with Gilsulate 500XR uses simple conventional construction techniques which were first presented in 1943. Gilsulate500XR was specifically designed & developed for the purpose as an underground pipe & tank insulation and corrosion protection product and was Patented (U.S. 4,231,884).
Contractors offer Gilsulate as an alternate on their bids because "The installed Gilsulate system was 25% of the cost of the specified pre-insulated system." Contractors are seeking a recognized and accepted viable cost saving alternative to the pre-insulated piping systems when bidding underground insulated piping projects; they are turning to the "Gilsulate Advantage."
In a lump sum turn key (LSTK) engineering, procurement and construction contract, Fluor reinforced its commitment to sustainable economic growth by utilizing women-owned businesses including Gilsulate International as a supplier to complete the project.
