Basement Entry Systems
In 1986, Bob was at Centerville Lumber in Hamden buying materials for a job when a conversation ensued with Frank at the lumber counter about bulkhead doors. Bob realized there was a need for competent installers. For the next twenty years, Bob installed basement doors on a referral basis from many local lumber yards.

Bob was instrumental in establishing the factory-authorized installer program with the Bilco(R) company. He worked hand in hand with Bilco(R) implementing several new products. His picture is featured on installation instructions and various pieces of literature. Bob and Tammy realized that there was a need for a company which specifically addressed the proper installation of basement entry doors.
Services
For over 25 years we have replaced bilco doors for Connecticut home owners. We have also worked on replacements of bulkhead doors, as well as retrofits for new hatchways A retrofit entails excavation, cut-thru, and installation of a pre-cast concrete, cinder block, or poured concrete foundation. They are all referring to the same item: your basement entry.
We use Silverline (a subdivision of Andersen(R)) vinyl windows, either sliding or hopper, double-glazed. Each window is manufactured to fit your opening. It is important to have an insulated, weather-stripped door at the bottom of the hatchway stairs. The basement area of a home typically produces warm, moist air.
Are estimates free? Yes, initial estimates can usually be done over the phone. This helps us pre-qualify potential customers from people who are just looking for a price. It also helps us use our time and resources more efficiently, which, in turn, allows us to keep our prices affordable. Why does my door leak?

Bob did a great job with replacement of my rusted falling apart cellar door. Completed the job in 2-3 hours and left the area clean. Overall very satisfied with his work and definitely use him again.
