White sands motel is truly a home away from home. It was home to me and my colleagues for more than two months. We loved the owners Bonnie and Chuck and we all had a good good time together. I strongly suggest staying here every time you are in Alamogordo. Love you white sands. Miss you Chuck and Bonnie.

The bargain price doesn't reflect the high quality or killer charm of this place, making this the best value you'll find almost anywhere.
Super clean, super well maintained. Awesome charm. Really comfortable beds. Super friendly owner. The breakfast is solid, with good variety and quality items (no watery OJ or green bananas or powdered "creamer"). Even the outside grounds are completely devoid of all trash and debris.
Only minor complaint is the water temp for the shower wandered a lot, but the pressure was good, and the entire bathroom was spotless.

Very clean room and easy to connect wifi. Bed was very comfortable and the whole place was nice and quiet. My husband and I visited White Sands and the Alameda Park Zoo while we were staying. Our check-in/out was very simple and quick. The furnishings and amenities were even better than what we were expecting from the photos online. Great place for a great price - we would stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at White Sands in early June of 2021. The staff was super kind and helpful, and we could tell they took great pride in their motel. Our room was nice, cozy, clean, and comfy. The location was excellent for our trip to White Sands NP. An added bonus was that they had saucers and wax available for use so that we could go sand sledding!
I highly recommend this motel if you’re like me, and would rather not stay at chain places all the time.

I can't say enough about how fabulous this place is for the price! The rooms are SUPER CLEAN and well maintained. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was cleaned and made up everyday of our 3 night stay. My favorite thing about this motel has to be the vintage charm that it just naturally has and isn't "kitschy"

Very clean, comfortable, and well-situated hotel with kind staff. The rooms had everything we needed (microwave, a decently sized mini-fridge) and the beds were comfortable. The cleaning staff are doing an *amazing* job keeping the rooms clean. Excellent value. It felt good to support a local business as well. Would highly recommend and will stay here the next time I visit!

For my first visit to White Sands National Park, I reviewed Yelp for a recommended hotel. I rely heavily on Yelp reviews when traveling in new areas, because I believe folks are normally quite candid with their comments. At least I am! The White Sands Motel met and, for me, exceeded their review average. The owner who checked me in was very pleasant, offered recommendations for a local restaurant, and offered me fresh fruit and pastries after informing me the continental breakfast was closed due to the pandemic. When she saw I wasn't alone, she also offered me a room upgrade.

We booked 2 rooms at white sands motel and I was surprised with all the amenities there. Each room had a mini fridge, microwave, and TV. They served breakfast in morning which was a quick grab and go because of covid. I thought the blankets could be more thicker but I wouldn't be complaining so much. The place is in a prime location, a lot of food stores around the place, so that was a plus point too. We checked out in morning and went on the hike. While we were coming back we wanted to stop by the place again to use the rest room and the lady just offered the keys to our room again to use

Cutest "3 star" actually 4.5 star motel i've ever stayed in. shower pressure was good, everything was clean, AC was amazing! lemme say the lighting in the bathroom is the best lighting ever & it's just the cutest place. Ann is the sweetest woman and she even has breakfast. i'm SO happy i stayed here my first time in new mexico!!! highly recommend!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Not one to stay in chain hotels when there is coolness like the White Sands Motel! We were there to see family and I did the Yelp thing to find a motel/hotel. White Sands stood out above even the standard Holiday Inn's etc. It is a family owned motel. Looks like one of the old Roadway Inns. The family has taken beautiful care of it and every room has been updated. The front desk service was exceptional- very nice to answer any and all questions. A perfect little motel zone of quiet comfort. AC, microwave & fridge worked great. Bedding is clean, walls are clean, bathroom is clean, shower worked great. Wifi, unlike much more expensive hotels, was fast.
There is space to walk around outside, chairs outside the rooms, and you have a good view of the stars/planets since light pollution is less than most cities.

This place was exactly what I needed after a long hot day of driving the backroads of New Mexico. Clean, quiet, A/C, and a fridge were all perfect for this roadtripper. A lot of times the cool mid-20th century vintage motels are sketchy, but not this one! I was delighted to find fresh white sheets, courteous front desk staff, a full ice machine, an affordable rate, and a sweet vintage neon sign to boot!
Oh, and the WiFi was solid and the shower pressure was great, too. Will definitely stay here if I pass through again.

We made an unexpected overnight in Alamogordo, NM. Planning to drive further north but got blown away when we stopped for fuel. Decided to spend the night and was looking for a medium priced motel friendly to seniors. As always, read reviews on Yelp and Trivago. We consider Yelp reviews more reliable.
Motel exceeded our expectations. A/C was cool, room was clean and well kept. Older motel but worth the price. Front desk person was pleasant.
Left to early for breakfast to make up for lost time.

The hotel was super clean and quiet. An overall adorable little hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone stopping by in the area. Next time my family and I need a place to stay, we will definitely come back here. On top of it all -compared to other hotels we have stayed at in the past- this one felt very safe, clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Amazingly clean and courteous staff. Typical 'motor court' interior but grounds quaint with lots of Delft blue and even an adult-type swing. Funny old plastic fobbed physical keys. Nice continental breakfast 6:30-9:30 (on a weekday!) in a room with a floor you could eat from. Bed seemed small for a queen. High-mounted wall unit a/c so hard to control, seemed either too cold or too warm and room too small to avoid draft since vanes on unit not adjustable. Get this, they have clean remote controls! It's been a little over a year since I stayed here. However, I still remember how it was so pleasant and welcoming. The bed was massive and the bathroom was great.
The breakfast in the morning was not warm but they have cereals and fruits. The man and lady who run are a lovely couple who are super sweet and want to help.
It's within a 5 or 10 min drive of the dunes!!
