I did my wood fence around my property in Davis with Gateway Fence and I really recommend them.
They were very responsive with me from the beginning, we wanted to have a certain type of fence that is not really popular in Sacramento area and surroundings, but Larry worked with me to find the right style and right posts and specs that fit my ask. After a couple of iterations, we came to a nice style and specs. They came on time and they were ready and did a great job. The fence looks amazing and very sturdy.

Our fence has needed to be replaced for sometime but with one of the recent wind storms the back fence had a section go down and the rest was just falling apart. We had been trying to rig it with no help from the people behind us but was necessary since they have pit bulls. One day my little dog was able to get through and by the time I noticed it and yelled for him he can through soaked and a hole in is side and couldn't walk for days. Like many others my fence was on its last leg and I didn't do much to it to help keep it up... I mean what can you do to maintain a fence anyway? It's usually the posts that rot after x number of years, and mine was up for almost 30yrs so I consider myself lucky. Anyway the storm in January finally blew down a few weak posts so I started looking for fence contractors. My neighbor said her gardener could do it but I convinced her that a licensed pro was the way to go. Got a few bids, Gateway was among them, and the estimator James made a great impression so we put them on top of the list

After a 50+ mph wind blew a chunk of our fence down, we went looking for someone to replace it. We had someone come and at least prop the fence up, but these guys came recommended by a friend of ours. We had a quote from them and from someone else, and we went with these guys because for a few dollars more, they said they'd be reinforcing the posts with metal posts to help it stand up longer against durable storms. Larry and his helper showed up to our house about 11, and by 1:00, they were done. They were efficient, the fence looks great and stable, and we were incredibly happy. And

They started at the crack of dawn (sorry neighbors). I was shocked at how fast they removed the old fence and deck. I was even more shocked at the quality of materials they used and the exceeding expectations quality of their work. Even the gate latch, hinges and fence posts were top of the line. They scimpted on nothing! I am so happy I chose them. Oh, and they even added more planks to the deck because of unforseen damage and didn't raise the cost one cent. My fence looks just like the fence in their main picture on this site.

We could not be more pleased with our new, custom hogwire and redwood fence! Larry and his team had 90% of the project done in just one day, and wrapped it up the next morning. The materials they used were high quality and so was their workmanship. Extremely professional and easy to work with--highly recommend!

I would like to recognize Bob and his crew at Gateway Fence. Bob had his team remove and replace an old section of fence (approx 80 ft) in 4 hours. He had them comply with my wishes to save vegetation which was growing around and on the fence, which they did. The crew started at 7:30 am and completed the job by 11:00 am, I have never seen anyone work so fast.
