The Sportsman has been providing the Cache Valley area with an extensive variety of all-season sporting goods since 1947. Originally established by Lucile and Jack Croft, the store aimed to attract a diverse crowd with a combination of hard goods such as skiing equipment, biking gear, and camping supplies, alongside soft goods like technical clothing and a distinctive selection of casual and formal wear.

The owner/manager of this store is so friendly & goes out of his way to be helpful, which I really appreciated. I was looking to purchase a OneWheel for my husband for Christmas and the owner gave me the Black Friday discount a few days early.
He helped me understand the different options I had with the different models and was patient with my questions.
It's a good looking store from the outside & the location couldn't be better. Everything about downtown logan is charming & this shop adds an extra bonus of charm with the quality outdoor clothing/items inside.
If you're looking for Chacos,

Took some skis needing a mount to Al’s 5 days ago just to get a call from them saying they did not actually have the jig needed to mount my skis. After picking them back up, I took them to the guys at the Sportsman who were super nice and turned them around in under 24 hours. Much better service and smarter guys!

Wow; I can't praise Mark Fjeldsted (3rd generation owner) and his super friendly staff enough.
My wife and I were driving through Logan on a long-distance hiking/biking vacation and realized we needed to replace our 10-year-old Thule bicycle rack. We searched businesses in Logan that sold Thule racks and found The Sportsman.
Arriving at the store, I explained our situation to a friendly gentleman (turned out to be Mark) who explained the modern Thule products very thoroughly. I was pretty candid explaining that I'd brought no tools (from Phoenix, our home) but Mark didn't hesitate

Outstanding! Took my mountain bike to The Sportsman for basic maintenance and got great service at a very fair price. Took the bike to another shop a while back and it just never seemed right. Jeff at Sportsman performed a very thorough service that solved my issues. This was my first time getting bike service at The Sporstman, and I won't hesitate to go back next time my bike needs work.

This is a review of the bike service department and not the retail space.
I had The Sportsman put new brakes and a new derailleur on my bike and was not very impressed. It should have been a red flag when the salesman was shocked at how much brakes cost and assumed I couldn't afford them.
1. Rear brake line was routed on the OUTSIDE of the frame where it would rub between my foot and the frame, and more importantly created a loop that could catch on something. This line was also not attached to the frame when routed next to the rear wheel in a way where it was literally rubbing against the tire

These guys are the best!
I've been going to the Sportsman for years, I've bought a number of bicycles from them, but best of all is their bicycle maintenance shop. They've always done a fantastic job, treated me well and at bargain prices!
When a store does a great job, often times it's difficult to show appreciation for a job well done, so it is my pleasure to give Sportsman five stars.
I recently took my bicycle to them with some problems I was experiencing with some grinding in the peddle bearings, I told them I was afraid I needed a new set of bearings, that I had wore

I rented a bike for the summer which turned out to be a terrible idea, since I've not even looked at a bike since I was 10. I rode the bike 3 blocks parked it and left it there for 4 days before deciding to return it. On the paperwork k signed there was no information about returning the bike early. Since it had been such a short time I figured I'd receive a full refund. First the store manager Mark was rude and even suggested that I illegally ride the bike on the sidewalk when I mentioned not being experienced enough to ride the bike around town. Then he said he'd get back to
