I recently received a quote from this place. Not only were the dates incorrect, but they required FULL payment upfront (can cancel, but only future credit given). Their price was $80 higher than a place very near them same dates. In this day of COVID traveling, perhaps the owners need to have a more lenient cancellation policy. Even when you cancel on airlines, they credit is to fly ANYWHERE...this place only option is to come back to THEM. No thanks !

Lightener creek bestows a sense of nature, wonderment, and homeyness. The willow cabin suited us and our little pet family. Providing us with all the bare necessities. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience at lightener creek. The hostess were very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We will cherish the memories, the adventure, and the peacefulness that lightener creek sheds on all that stay.
Lightener creek is 10 minutes from downtown Durango, grocery stores, restaurants and shops. Multiple hiking trails surround lightener creek and Durango. Lastly, don’t forget the beautiful view

My family and I stumbled across this hidden gem in the southwest corner of the Centennial State on our roundabout way back to Dallas during our June road trip to the Grand Canyon. Nestled on a two-lane highway outside of Durango, this campground is situated between two tree-covered high ridges and is bisected by a beautiful mountain stream. With tent sites, RV hookups sleeper cabins and full-amenity cabins, Lightner Creek has something for all outdoor enthusiasts. The campground boasts a plethora of amenities—including an in-ground pool, laundry and shower facilities, a playground, several bbq

My fiancée and I stayed at Lightner Creek Campground with our dog this past July on our summer road trip. We had an excellent time! The campground is nestled in a beautiful canyon. We enjoyed the various fun activities that Durango had offer as we went hiking, Mountain biking, zip lining and white water rafting. They had a dog park within the campground that was just large enough for our 60 pound German shepherd to run around a bit and chase tennis balls but there's also a really nice larger dog park in the town of Durango as well. Dogs were required to be on a leash which was reasonable. The

Easy to get in, out and navigate. Roads and sites are paved and gravel. Utilities worked well. Fantastic views from every site. Some sites are more spacious and private than others. Its the luck of the draw. Wifi worked well and Tmobile signal was very strong. All staff are fantastic. The guests here were especially friendly. I think everyone was super happy to be there. Great place. Good deals on their IG too.

Wonderful experience during our stay at Lightner Creek Campground. We have two little children who enjoyed the playground, heated swimming pool, and long walks around the well-maintained park. The facilities are cleaned daily with extra care. The staff is very friendly and are all a wealth of knowledge for activities in the area. The campsites are level, groomed nicely, and accommodated our large rig which is a huge plus. The campground was booked solid through our stay, so we were very fortunate to have gotten a spot! We will be back to Durango and definitely book out sooner to guarantee a spot

Lightner Creek Campground is located just outside Perins Peak Wildlife Area and is just 5 miles from the town of Durango. Both are a great place to visit. The people in this place aim to please. The bathrooms and laundry are spotless. Our site was fairly private and level. We were happy to have a very strong at&t signal. Here’s a hot tip, they are now offering special savings with promo codes on their IG! We will be back next year!

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights with our small camper. Easy pull-through sites with full hookups. This campsite is located in a canyon with plenty of shade trees. It was very quiet and nice here. Staff were friendly. Bathrooms VERY clean! We liked that it was only a few minutes from Durango. Great motorcycle riding out here. They have laundry facilities, a dog run, playground, yard games, and a pool. We would definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area again! The only tiny complaint I have is the wifi didn't work. It had strong signal, just wouldn't connect. We couldn't figure

This is my second year visiting this campground and both times have been fantastic! The campground is nestled in a beautiful mountain canyon with great shade trees at all campsites. The owners and staff are amazing and very helpful and the grounds and bathhouse are well kept and very clean. There is a great pool and playground for the kids and a grassy dog park. The staff can point you to some stellar mountain biking, hiking, fishing and boating all within just a few miles of the campground. Located only 5 miles west of Durango I can't say enough about this place. I'll be back next year!

Great outdoor experience at this campground. The access to the area attractions were convenient. Park was well maintained with grassy areas, blacktop roads. Aspen and Pine growing up the mountain side with views!! Our site was large with privacy, big rig sites were closer to each other but still had privacy on patio side.. Beautiful pool! Staff very genuine and helpful, on the premises working. Hot spots for wifi near office and laundry, need a booster at site. Highly recommend park.
