Jared is the president of Hummingbird Environmental. With 10+ years of experience in this industry, while 7 of those years have been as site supervisor. Jared has also gone through hazwoper training and can remove and haul any hazardous waste material. Before working in the environmental industry, Jared built houses.
Asbestos is a fireproof, very strong fiber that has been used in over 3,000 products. As time goes on, asbestos becomes brittle (friable). If disturbed it will pollute the air and can cause serious illnesses including asbestos is and mesothelioma, a type of cancer. Asbestos use was banned in 1977 after realizing how dangerous it really was.

We had flooring that was layer upon layer with the base being asbestos. Hummingbird responded quickly and was able to come out soon to remove. They did a good job at a reasonable price. Everything was handled professionally and the area was kept separate so the rest of the house was not effected by any dust or debris. Very easy to do business with.

I didn't actually end up hiring Humminbird Environmental, but I really appreciate the help I got from Joe Yager when I was looking into hiring someone to do lead abatement work on my house. Joe explained why the work I was looking to have done (for thousands of dollars) wasn't actually necessary to make our house safe for our baby. He helped me avoid a costly mistake, and gave me real peace of mind. While I hope I don't *actually* need any lead/mold/asbestos services in future, Hummingbird will be my first call if I do.

We wanted to have our air ducts cleaned since it's been over a decade and we have allergy issues. That's when we found out we had asbestos above the air system which had to be removed before the ducts could be cleaned. We were referred to Hummingbird Environmental Services. Within two hours of our first call, Joe came by to give us an estimate. Scheduling the removal was easy and accommodated our urgent needs. Ramiro and Danny removed the asbestos the next day. The entire experience took just about 24 hours; in fact, it only took them 35 minutes to remove the asbestos when they came with the equipment
