Located on the world famous Avenue of the Giants in the quaint historical town of Redcrest is the family owned and operated Redcrest Resort. The Avenue of the Giants is a 32-mile scenic drive that winds its way through the giant redwood trees of Humboldt Redwoods State Park. In a recent survey conducted by the Humboldt County Convention and Visitors Bureau, of the top 10 attractions on the Redwood Coast, the Avenue of the Giants was voted #2.
Before the automobile, the stage coach route from San Francisco to Eureka passed through the property that is now the Redcrest Resort. Now the Avenue of the Giants is a quiet, scenic alternative to Highway 101. You will find the resort a scenic 4 hour drive from the Golden Gate Bridge or a pleasant 35 minute drive from Eureka.

The lady at the front desk was not very friendly, the jacuzzi didn't work the room was dusty and dirty I have pictures. when I asked for the WiFi password she told me she didn't what to give it to me because it probably didn't . work We couldn't make plans for our next stays because of it . We ask for a refund to go somewhere else we where told they couldn't help us no phone in the room no way to call for emergency or any if your cell service didn't work like our didn't. I left there felling like the baits motel and would never go back ! Redwoods are beautiful but it left me feeling like I won

Very clean, small cabins. No issues with check in. Plenty of hot water/pressure for showers. Went in November off season with the husband and dog as a base camp to visit Avenue of the Giants/Eureka. Lots of small touches (birdhouses, Christmas lights, flowers), can see how it would be great fun for kids and families in the summer, post COVID (hopefully the fire table and hot tub will reopen for use then). Room rates increased 20% between the time of our reservation and payment upon arrival, but price was fine and location in the redwoods was far better than staying in Eureka. Would return!

We did not like the attitude the staff took toward bears! They did not use bear resistant trash containers. When we pointed out the trash bags that were littering the grounds, they told us the neighbor planned to shoot the bear next time it came around. This is so disturbing!!! They did NOTHING to prevent a bear encounter. I would not stay here again! When you live in or have a business in one of the most beautiful natural and unique areas in our country and you do nothing to be a good steward of that park you lose me as a client!

BEWARE! We were surprised to see how small and dilapidated the cabins were for the price. The bathroom and kitchen are SUPER tiny. The WIFI was worthless. The power went out when we were going to bed so the generator turned on. It was extremely loud and the fumes came into the cabin. We were given a total cost when the reservation was made and the day we left they raised the rate. When we asked about it, the girl at the front desk was very rude. I get it that they need to run a business but don't be dishonest and rude!

Friendly & helpful hosts!! Great location & pet friendly with a lot of places for the dogs to walk leash free even. The cabins were alright, a bit tiny, but well equipped. Many rules about cleaning, i.e. dishes, but that's alright if you have a business you're running. Very weak wifi though (having any is a plus given there's no cell phone reception in the area). The garden area has neat places to sit & enjoy the surroundings or play games with the family. overall, a good place to take a break from camping in the wild & take a nice hot shower!!

Horrible customer service. I called to make a reservation and was told they were too busy to complete the reservation and would call me back, but assured me that they would save the dates for me. No one called me back and when I called them they had given my reservation away, and instead made me feel like it was my fault for not calling back sooner even though initially I was prepared to complete the reservation it was them that were too busy to do it. Very disappointing!

Told us they a cabin, we arrive and they refuse to let us have it because we had a trailer. Offered to put trailer in parking and leave my truck by the highway. Just obstinate and snobbish with shabby looking little cottages in bright slummish colors. Lady at the front was nice, owner was not at all helpful or tolerant of anything or anyone.

Smaller campground. No facilities at the time we stayed. Bathrooms and showers were closed due to covid. Had a dog park but it wasn't fenced and was close to the road, not a lot of traffic through there, but still not ideal. Did have a nice park with plenty of activities for the kids. Had a nice gift shop, little high priced though.

Cute and quaint place to stay that's a short distance from the highway. There's 12 cabins with a couple that have 2 bedrooms. The second bedroom was really small, just large enough for a queen bed and small TV sitting on a side shelf. They do have two fans one in each room if you need to cool off since they don't have AC in the cabins. Stayed at the first part of June and the night still cools off, so you can open the windows if you need to cool off. The one downside staying in cabin 9 or 10 is the shed in the back and the spotlight that automatically turns on. There was a cat that

This review is for the RV portion of the resort. I don't want to ding this place for what they are so I will just give it four stars. This is an easy place to get in and out of, it is clean and convenient. Hook ups were good and spaces were mostly level. The entire site is gravel, spaces are an okay-is size, some are better than others.
We came for spring break and even though it is a little early in the season we were surprised that we were the only people on the property.
They had a nice grass area with some beat up toys for the kids. Hot tub and group fire pit were closed with the world

Not happy with the vacation house we stayed in with our grandkids. A few spiders found inside house; my husband found a nasty bite on his arm. The bathroom floor and tub worn out a lot. One roll of toilet paper for 6 of us..I am sure they would have given us more if we asked....but I should have too. Gas heater and no carbon dioxide monitor found and I looked for it....so slept with the thermostat off. The Teflon pans in the kitchen all scratched and bent...scary to use. King bed extremely uncomfortable and itchy...ended up on sofa bed sleeper. During COVID we stayed but this is not a a

Stayed August 22-29, 2020. We love staying in the rustic cabins at this old motor motel built in the 1930s or 40s. It's always the place we stay at when we go to the Redwoods.
It's right in the middle of the Avenue of the Giants. I usually drive from there to a couple trails in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Redcrest is also close enough to drive in to Eureka, with a stop in Ferndale, for the day.
My 92 year old father loves to sit on the porch and watch the cars go by. I like to sit on the porch and read in the evening. When it gets too dark to read I just relax and

My review for the Redcrest Resort Giftshop:
https://www.yelp.com/biz/redcrest-resort-giftshop-redcrest
The resort itself is pleasant, quiet, with deer wandering the property along with many birds and other wildlife. Located in the depths of California's gorgeous 20 mile stretch of The Avenue of the Giants, this is a perfect little spot to spend with your family that's reasonable, convenient & definitely a throw-back to another time. Slower IS often better than speed in the case of places like this so go, enjoy and relax. We loved it!

I am absolutely in love with this place. We stayed recently for two nights the first weekend of November. It has that wholesome mom & pop hospitality that I adore being from the south. I travel a lot as a corporate traveler and large hotel chains really lose that comfort touch. They are super accommodating and the cabins are cute.
There's a clean hot tub that's not uncomfortably hot. A nice trail behind the cabins and a walk through tree. They literally give you everything needed for your stay including enough coffee for one pot. Dishes, soap, extra blankets, etc. They have different

On our way home from Gold Beach we decided to stop and see the redwoods. We reserved the site for 2 nights. When we arrived I let them know we decided to stay only 1 night. The lady said there was a 14 day cancellation window and was too late to cancel. Once we got to our site (we stayed in campsite 14) I can understand why. Once someone sees how small the sites are they would run for the hills. Our 30 foot travel trailer barely fit, but there was no where to park our truck. There was a picnic table that we had to move to fit the trailer, but no fire ring. This is fine as there was no room to

My sister and I stayed here 3 yrs ago and enjoyed being right on the Ave of the Giants. But we had a bad experience here this year though. I booked a cabin for 4 nights for my sister's birthday. My sister lives in the Bay Area and I'm in NorCal so we met here. The owners live on site and are very controlling about their guests. Each cabin only has one very small parking space. Because we came in separate vehicles one of us had to park on the street. Not very convenient!! There is an extra parking space close to our room that was not being used, but we we told to move our car

I enjoyed this quiet little place. Found it just passing through. The woman helping us suggested we take space 27 but if we didn't like it, she would easily change it. We loved it. It was all by itself between 2 cabins. The bathrooms were very clean. There was a previous post that was contrary to this but we were told the management had done some repairs and upgrades to get AAA rating. They have a hot tub, swings, tetherball, horseshoes and volleyball. They also have a very nice group fire pit and free wood is available for all.

It's a nice place. My wife and I stayed here after finding it on the Internet. The Cabin was nice and clean. If any complaint I could come up with is the check-in process. We were told to call if we were going to be after 6 well, we couldn't cause there is very spotty Cell service and no pay phones around ( pay phone....what's that??). We arrived here around 6:30 and everything was closed! Even the the gift shop that you are to check in "after hours". Someone just happened to be there closing up and helped us out. They might wanna have an after hours lock box with the
