A 'place called home' since 1972, Shepherd's Fold Ranch is a non-denominational Christian summer camp and retreat center located on 88 acres just 30 minutes north of Tulsa in Avant, OK. We offer summer camps, leadership development programs, rental camps, and full retreat services.

In the fall of 1972, Don and Shirley Staires took a Sunday drive in the country that would change their lives and the life of their family completely. With the station wagon full of their four kids and a few from their neighborhood, the Staires headed north of Tulsa. In 1972, a casual Sunday drive with Don & Shirley Staires turned into their own adventure of a lifetime.
Shepherd's Fold Ranch is a non-denominational Christian summer camp where campers have outdoor adventures, build lifelong friendships, encounter God and find a place called home. Shepherd's Fold Ranch has the perfect camp for any age range. We customize each camp's activities and teachings to support the physical and spiritual growth for that specified age.
Tree house Mini-Week is for 2nd - 7th graders who aren't quite ready for a full week away from home. We'll pack an entire week of camp adventures into half the time and still include all the fun and friends a weeklong camp would provide. Part of learning in nature requires some basic outdoor knowledge.
With a low counselor-to-camper ratio, Treehouse Village provides lots of one-on-one time. Campers learn the foundation of their true self is knowing God loves them. Campers spend their week participating in pool games, riding the zipline over the pond, playing games, peer fellowship and so much more!
This camp is a continuation of SFR's mission to 'train up a child' (Proverbs 22:6). It's exclusively for 11th - 12th graders and is designed for those who desire to transition into a leader. Ideally, this preparation time of transitioning campers into staff member lasts 2 summers. Campers will find themselves among a group of strong, like-minded believers, all ready for the greatest summer of their lives.

Went essentially every summer until I was 12. My (way older) brother even worked as a leader for a couple summers. Memories that will last a lifetime. I’m 22 now and still cherish the pure joy I was able to experience 24/7 while I was there. Never had I felt more close to the Holy Spirit. SFR took the Jesus that learned about in church and in school and made him tangible.

I was a camper every summer for 9 years and a senior counselor for one of the best and most important summer's of my life at Shepherds Fold. I always said that if God had a vacation spot, it was here. The Staires family were truly following the Lords direction when they founded this ministry and my life will forever be changed because of their investment. I could not suggest this summer camp more strongly!

This year was my kids first time at Shepherd's Fold Camp. The first thing they asked us when we went to visit them at camp , was if they could attend the Camp next year. They had a great experience. As a parent, I can see a huge difference on my kids behavior for the better. I would encourage every parent out there, that is looking for an amazing camp experience, to send their kids to Shepherd's Fold. You will not regret!

As a camper or staff, Shepherd’s Fold is the best place for anyone to spend the summer! I grew up going to camp almost every summer and recently spent three years on staff as a counselor and then the director of TreeHouse Village. Best summer ever! The biggest thing that truly separates the Fold from other camps are all the incredible staff and community. The staff are all volunteer and raised their own support which means they CHOSE to be there and sacrifice their time to have fun with your kids and teach them about Jesus. You won’t be dealing with boring minimum wage baby sitter counselors

I grew up going to summer camp at the Fold, and it was always an amazing experience. I would not have the relationship with the Lord I have today if it were not for Shepherd's Fold Ranch. The staff are genuine, loving and time giving. They volunteer their summer to minister to youth and spread the love and message of Jesus Christ. I would definitely recommend to any mom or dad looking to send a child/youth to summer camp. At SFR, they truly put the campers first and do everything they can to make it the best possible experience. As a staff member, I saw for myself that one week really can make

Shepherd's Fold has been an absolute blessing to our church, Courtyard Church, and to the lives of my children. Their leaders are top notch and the the counselors are always loving and encouraging. They challenge your kids into a deeper walk with their savior and they have fun doing it. Without a doubt THE best camp they have ever been too.

Shepherds Fold Ranch is an amazing place that is very near and dear to my heart! I had some of the greatest summers of my life out there and made some lifelong best friends out of it. It helped me grow and flourish as a young man and taught me numerous life lessons that have shaped who I am today. On top of that all, it was insanely fun!! Everyday was a new adventure filled with games, journeys, laughter, and fellowship. SFR will forever be one of my favorite places!

As far as camps go, it’s a blast. The cabins are in good condition, the food is fantastic, and the grounds are always clean. It just has that “camp” vibe. There’s an immediate sense of fun and good times when you arrive. I never felt unsafe, left out, and definitely never got bored. The staff are awesome and make sure everybody’s taken care of.

Shepherd’s Fold Ranch is a camp that has had an incredible impact on me and my life. Throughout my childhood and teenage years going as a camper, I learned valuable lessons about my faith and what it looks like to be a follower of Christ. Shepherd’s Fold has been one of the most special places for me since I was young. It is where I learned how to really hear the Lord and where I felt my relationship with Him grow every year.
