Flow Science Incorporated was formed by a group of graduate professional engineers to provide specialty consulting services for problems involving fluid motion and transport.

Building on its 38 years of experience successfully analyzing and developing innovative and effective solutions for the control of hydraulic surges and waterhammer, Flow Science is proposing a new and vastly superior approach to the control of waterhammer and pressure surges arising from pump operations: The use of a Battery Power Surge Mitigation (BPSM) system that comprises a battery coupled with pump controls.
Services
Flow Science has extensive experience in the hydraulic analysis of pipelines and hydraulic structures, including the study of open channel flows, hydraulic jumps and air entrainment in pipelines, pumping wet wells and the design of gravity junction structures. We solve pump vibration and cavitation problems, and provide innovative solutions for flow optimization.
Since 1983 Flow Science has completed several hundred projects related to the hydraulic analysis of water distribution, pumping, and wastewater collection systems. We have significant experience in preventing hydraulic transients, solving pump vibration and cavitation problems, and providing innovative solutions for flow optimization.
Flow Science has an extensive background in engineering applications of turbulent mixing and dispersion theory in the analysis and design of diffuser systems to meet NPDES requirements for coastal ocean, estuaries and rivers. Specific discharge examples involving flows from 6,500 gpm to 840,000 gpm are provided below.
Flow Science is currently not hiring, but will review applications from those qualified in the following engineering job areas. A background in the following areas: hydraulics, hydrodynamics, computational solution of equations of fluid flow (CFD), pump/turbine modeling and analysis. A degree in civil engineering, with EIT certification, or P.E. with an emphasis on hydraulics or fluid dynamics.
