The Mission of RTA is to provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation services that improve and enhance the quality of life for the citizens and visitors of San Luis Obispo County. See our 2018-2020 Strategic Business Plan. The San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides intercommunity public transportation.

RTA's service area includes all of San Luis Obispo County and extends into Santa Barbara County to the south. RTA provides regional fixed-route service (RTA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complementary paratransit service (Runabout).
Services
Fixed route services include RTA buses, SoCo Transit buses and Routes A & B in Paso Robles. RTA runs 7 days a week and serves from San Miguel to Santa Maria. Routes 21, 24 and 28 on SoCo Transit run 7 days a week and serves the Five Cities area. Route 27 runs Monday - Friday. Routes A & B run Monday-Saturday.
This FREE trolley service connects you from the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets and loops to the Pismo Preserve and back to the Outlets. Then it travels all the way to Port San Luis via Avila Beach, Avila Valley (Avila Barn, Bob Jones Bike Trail, Avila Hot Springs Resort, and KOA campground). Connections from the trolley are available at the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets for South County Transit (Route 21 and Route 24) and RTA (Route 10).
RTA's fixed-route service consists of six bus routes, which run along Highways 1 and 101 to North County, the North Coast, and South County including the city of Santa Maria in Northern Santa Barbara County. North County hourly, local and express service, plus limited Saturday and Sunday local service.
Throughout SLO County there are many options for riders who may need specialized transit services. Depending on your age, location, and whether you have a disability, your options for service will vary. For a complete list of options in SLO County that includes RTA as well as other providers, please view the Specialized Transit Ride Guide here.
Runabout is a county-wide ADA paratransit program providing ADA complementary (comparable) service. Riders must be ADA certified to qualify for Runabout service. The ADA law mandates that paratransit be available to those persons whose disability prevents them from using accessible fixed-route bus services.

Driver today failed to switch his sign from North to South, talked to him about it and he was extremely rude about it and offered no apology or help. Now about 12 of us are on a trip for an extra hour to Morro Bay.

The driver this morning was very rude. There was an older lady behind me( wich I wasnt aware of) the driver stopped me from boarding, waved the lady aside(wich I'm fine with) but then told the lady how rude I was right in front of me! Truly unprofessional, and not even her place to say anything about.

I got no response, so I sat down to wait until he was boarding, at 6:10 exactly he closed the doors and looped around. I ran across to catch him at the bench on the way out. He didn't open the doors to even check if anyone needed to ride 9s and took off. I don't know what I did wrong, but now I have to wait another hour to catch the next arrival to get home, then ride that bus for an hour or more to get there. I don't know who the driver was, but he just

So rta is a great way to travel. I only rated it three stars becuase when I take the buss from moro bay to cambria the morning buss driver is ALWAYS yawning and hitting the lane bums back and forth each side of the road. I can't relax it scares the heck out of me. He has been doing this for years. Nice guy very polite. But please let him retire. It makes my ride very miserable. And is extremely dangerious
