El Centro Su Teatro
Su Teatro is the third oldest Chicano theater in the country (only Teatro Campesino and Teatro de la Esperanza are older). For more than 40 years, the group has established a national reputation for home-grown productions that speak to the history and experience of Chicanos. Su Teatro has created more than 20 original full length productions that have toured widely to venues such as New York's Public Theater, The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, San Antonio, TX and Los Angeles' Plaza de la Raza.

Su Teatro has been nationally recognized for the artistic excellence of its programs through funding from the Shubert Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, Theatre Communications Group, and the American Composers Forum.Born from the Chicano Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and 70s, Su Teatro (Your Theater) began in 1972 as a student-organized theater group at the University of Colorado at Denver.

I went to see Joaquin's Christmas and it was an amazing performance, all the actors were dedicated to their craft, the staff was very accommodating and they are very mindful of covid safety in the modern world. They also had great snacks to munch on before and during the show, can anybody say Tamales?

This theater always has great productions. I have seen multiple plays here and they range from funny to serious to truly eye opening. They have some truly talented performers here. It is also fun to see the productions with the younger kids ranging from their first play ever to high school aged. They have a bar so you can get beer, wine, or mixed drinks. They also have a great little store filled with local artisans, jewelers, musicians, & authors. To top if off any donation made rolls right back into the community to help teach free youth classes and so much more. This is a very welcoming and
