Award-winning Cheesemaker and Buttermaker Al Bekkum and his family live on the Bekkum Farmstead owned and operated by their family since immigration from Norway in 1917. The farm is located among other Norwegian settlers in Westby, Wisconsin within Vernon County's lush, green hills and valleys known as the Coulee Region.

Located in the heart of Wisconsin's Driftless Region, right on the Bekkum farmstead, the creamery and shop is open to the public year round. You might even get to see cheese or butter being made depending on the day and time of your visit. We currently make butters, ice creams and our cheeses in this new facility built in 2011.

Two times I've ordered cheese from Nordic Creamery, and I've been amazed at how quickly the order arrived - great service! The cheeses were packed in an insulated bag with "Nordic Ice" to keep them cold and fresh. Every cheese I ordered has been very tasty. The Capriko is a most interesting and delicious treat. I look forward to trying more of the products Nordic Creamery offers.

I placed my first order last week for butter and cheese. It shipped out super quick. The items were packaged appropriately and arrived in great condition. And the quality! The taste of the butter is so much better than what you get in the supermarket. The cheese is wonderful. I will definitely be ordering again.

Great, fresh products in a small store at the farm entrance. Really pretty setting with a nice deck to sit and enjoy your eats. It's definitely not near anything, so you have to intend to go here...you won't just happen to drive past it! Friendly staff and a super cute Border Collie that wanted to keep herding a llama :-)

A highlight of my visits to the area to see my Mother, is a stop at the Nordic creamery. Their sweet cream butter is without peer. Rich and creamy, the perfect accompaniment. The goat cheese is excellent. The scenic vista from the deck of the store is worth the visit, as well. Their homemade ice cream is a great on the spot snack..... ColumbiascJay
