Sidewalk Deli

Ate here for the first time today, recommended by a friend who said this was her and her mom's favorite lunch spot. Such good subs!!!! Loved being able to sit out on the sidewalk in the sun.
We tried the Burgess and the Empire, with side salad and red skin potato salad. The vinegar on the Empire, we wanted it all over everything. It was delicious.
I took a piece of the strawberry cake home and my fiance literally said he wants it to be our wedding cake it's so good 😂

Absolutely the best sandwiches in town. Bert's best club is my go to, but the French dip is excellent as well. The staff is always friendly and the table service is a nice surprise. Stop in and check them out if you have the chance!

My sis and three of her friends rode the train down from Durham to go to the Transportation museum.. but before going we ate at the Sidewalk Deli..they loved it..we had the chicken philly cheesesteak, egg salad, rueben, and BLT..awesome..

Its very popular, has been uptown forever and I wanted to love it but I just couldn't. I forgot what its called but I got a ham and cheese sandwich but it had all this 'mess' on it, I'm not quite sure what it was but I personally didnt care for it. The day we went they had red velvet cake and it was just okay, nothing I would want again. I have heard so many great things and I really wanted to love them but I didnt.

Chicken Philly - taste was really good and roll. Portion of chicken philly was questionable. One thin layer. I asked they said pre-measured.

I've eaten here twice & loved it both times! The food is great! The atmosphere pleasant! And the staff very friendly!

Everything I have had from here has been great! Their French dip is my usual go to, but I do sometimes get the BLTA, or the lobster bisque served in a bread bowl. The bisque isn't an every day item, so if you're able to order do! You will not regret it!

Man, I was hyped on this place by my brother in law and sadly it did not live up to all of my expectations. My wife & I came in right after my Dr. Appointment before they were hammered with the lunch crowd and it still took 40 minutes to get 2 sandwiches and a slice of cake.

Please do not get me wrong the sandwiches and cake were excellent and we really enjoyed it. We just felt like 40 minutes was a little too long and the fact that they were so rude about it was ( pun intentional) the icing on the cake.

Lobster and tomatoe bisque on a roll with Broccoli salad pictured. Note how the fillings tumbled out of the roll like a stuffed summer cornucopia. Fantastic service, delivered on time, delicious to the palate in an easy atmosphere. Great outdoor music and other customers are really friendly

The Sidewalk Deli is located in cute downtown Salisbury. They have indoor and outdoor seating and have an extensive list of sandwiches to choose from.

Rueben: Nicely grilled bread, excellent kraut, good corned beef, but the cheese was not melted. They also use Russian dressing, which is actually what an authentic Reuben calls for, but they put too much on--it got a bit messy.

Cole Slaw: Nearly perfect, for they know what all too few other places know--a key to outstanding cole slaw is celery seeds. The only problem was that it was slightly too wet.

Potato Salad: I ordered the mustard based

They have the BEST chicken salad & potato salad around! Such a friendly little hometown place! I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Waited in line 10 minutes to order and then waited over 30 minutes for two salads and a sandwich. Completely ridiculous. Won't come back again.

My go-to place for lunch in downtown Salisbury! Rick, the owner, is one of the nicest guys you'll meet and he will always greet you with a smile. Sidewalk is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat, with great options at a decent price. I highly recommend the peanut butter pie, it is heavenly. The one thing that I have always wished they had is French fries, and if they ever add them, that would make me love them even more.

The service was quick, the staff friendly, & the food delicious! I've had the lobster mac & chz the past 2 wks.

This Deli is located in downtown Salisbury, NC. Rick that runs it is great! He can fix any kind of sandwich your looking for. They offer great side dishes. With homemade pasta salads , deserts,etc....you want be disappointed.!They have great fast service at lunch time also.

Great steak and cheese. Brought back memories of way back family business. Very friendly service.

Chicken Philly and pimento cheese. Good selection of sides, great to sit inside or out in the little courtyard.

If you are looking for a unique sandwich...this is the place! Their atmosphere is chill and you can usually find a good seat. They have outdoor seating too! If you don't know which sandwich to go with, the West Square is definitely my favorite!

I had the club and it was awesome! Nice environment.. random fish in the middle of the store but they are chill. Fell in the fountain but all in all I.T was a great lunch!!!!!

Sidewalk Deli has some of the best food and is always a fun spot to visit when I am back home for a couple hours. The owners make superb sandwiches and salads and his mothers peanut butter pie recipe is out of this world!!

This place is awesome! I had the tomato bisque and grilled cheese and it was good. Can't wait to try other items out on the menu! Thumbs up!
