Sierra Exploration Drilling Company was founded by Robert L. Strahan and incorporated in the state of California in 1975. Robert became employed as a mineral exploration geologist after his attending college and then worked in that field throughout the western United States. He remains a Registered Geologist to this day.
We drill water wells for residential, agricultural and commercial use ranging in diameter from 5 to 12 inches and as deep as 1200 feet. Depending on the conditions of the location we drill with mud rotary or air rotary drilling. The well is cased with North American Specialties patented Certa-Lok well casing, which is a higher grade of PVC well casing than most companies use.
The water well pump is the heart of your water well system as it pumps the water from the well into the tank where it is accessible for use. No matter how deep the well or how precisely located it is, without a pump no water will ever make it to the surface. Part of the design process for your well will include selecting the type and size of pump to be installed.
In addition to drilling and pump installation, we offer other services for your water well system. If you need a well inspection or yield test for a real estate or appraisal report, or you just want more information about your well and its performance capabilities, give us a call.
We will perform an inspection of your complete system including the well itself, the pump, the controls and the tank, and generate a report that is acceptable for escrow and appraisal purposes.While public water supplies are regulated by the US EPA, private water wells remain under the jurisdiction of the land owner.
