Our Log Cabin resort is nestled in the beautiful mountains of Nelson County. Each of our four log homes are overlooking our private lake. The cabins each have two bedrooms with modern amenities: WiFi, gas fireplaces, central AC/ heat, smart televisions, fully equipped kitchens, comfortable furnishing, linens included.
Each cabin also offers outdoor fireplaces, charcoal grills and porches to enjoy the view of the lake. A nature lovers dream! We have 200 acres for you to explore and enjoy at our resort. Our 7 acre private lake is perfect for fishing, boating and swimming. Our groomed walking trails have sitting areas for you to relax and enjoy the beauty all around you.

Services
We've added modern amenities which include polished concrete floors, spa showers and WIFI so you can stay connected. The cabins all have central heat/air conditioning. We truly want our guests to have an enjoyable experience so no ordinary bathroom would do. Soapstone vanities with vessel sinks an amazing custom tile shower.

So relaxing, so pretty. Comfortable, clean, quiet. Amazing property. We stayed at "the lake house" (one of the 4 cabins-the one with no back porch steps-made it even more calming with a 3 year old around and the door open) (p.s. not a single bug!) It's updated and organized. Top notch hot tub-so nice on a cold night. They thought of everything. Wide open spaces, lil trail through the woods, big hills to climb for a view. We saw deer at night and a fox on a foggy morning. Feel like i've dreamt of this place before we came and now i'll be dreaming of going back.

What a special place!! We knew we wanted to extend our trip when we pulled up. Gorgeous property and beautiful cabin with amazing attention to detail. We stayed in the Sedona and felt like we had the place to ourselves. Peaceful and fun. Our boys (7 and 9) had the best time sledding and great hiking for the family (furry ones too!). Can’t wait to come back. 5 stars all the way!! Thank you Lisa and Duane ❤️❄️

If you are looking for the absolute best cabin stay, surrounded by amazing views and hosted by the best owners, stop looking- you found it at Southern Comfort Lakeside Cabins.
The 4 cabins are modern and beautifully designed, with extensive attention to detail (check out the rope boarding around the wall seams!). The owners even had the foresight to include a gas fireplace in case of power outages (rare, but could happen). Oh, and the shower- it's a human car wash!
My dogs agree, this was their favorite cabin we've ever stayed in, with acres of land to run and explore.

Beautiful location. Owners could not have been more helpful. Meticulous attention to detail was apparent everywhere, from interior/exterior of the log cabin itself to the trails and pond upkeep. We recommend this property to anyone looking for a getaway within reasonable driving distance from NC/VA.

Just came back from our second trip to the resort. Our stay there was as good as the first one and can't wait to come back. The cabin interior is fantastic. You can see the attention to detail that Lisa and Duane put into their cabins. It is the perfect combination of a rustic cabin but with the modern amenities that you need to keep your teenagers happy.
At the lake we enjoyed fishing and taking the row boat available for guests.
When the evening came we enjoyed the amazing sunset and then the fire pit. All in all a fantastic weekend. This place is starting to feel like a second home to us.

We just booked another week at this beautiful place. Spent a week here in May celebrating our anniversary. Lots to do in the surrounding area like hiking the many trails, to a drive on the blue ridge parkway. Or just relax on the porch with a morning cup of coffee and watch the deer, beaver, turkey, turtles, or any of the other animals around the lake. The cabins are well stocked and clean with everything you need to prepare meals. Beds are very comfortable. Lots of firewood if purchased onsite. Many good places to eat in area, highly recommended the Farmhouse at Veritas excellent 4 course meal

I only wish there were more than 5 stars! Lisa and Duane have a wonderful place that you have to visit to understand. The tranquility of the lake and scenery is so peaceful. There are meadows, hills and defined nature trails for you to hike. Deer, geese, bunnies and birds enjoy the outside with you. The cabin was cozy and offered everything we needed for our stay. The porch is amazing to place for a morning cup of tea. Our doodle enjoyed the lake and taking walks with us. Groceries, restaurants, and breweries are nearby. We can’t wait to go back and visit.

Magical Week! We stayed in the Lakeside Cabin. We loved the hot tub and hanging underneath the well shaded porch on the HOT days. I think we grilled outside 5 out of our 6 nights and walked to the creek to enjoy beverages each day. I might add that putting your feet/chair in the creek and enjoying the surroundings was a highlight of this stay! The property was immaculate and the shower was key. Loved our stay…. Would recommend to anyone looking to pause life for a few!

Went in the dead of Summer and it was a blast! The lake is amazing, great walking loop around the lake and the cabin was clean and really nice. Rented a party bus to go to wineries 30 min away. Friends of ours with kids around the same age (2-11) rented 3 of the 4 cabins and we plan on going back. Can’t say enough great things about our trip! Lisa and Duane are so great!!
