Humphrey, Covill & Coleman Insurance Agency, Inc., as it is now known, was founded in 1926 by Ernest J. Humphrey and Raymond F. Covill, both former Liberty Mutual Insurance Company employees. In 1948 following his graduation from Yale University and a brief tour of duty as a Naval Officer and an employee of INA, Philip L. Coleman, Humphrey's nephew, joined the agency and shortly after that the partnership became "Humphrey, Covill & Coleman".
After a career that spanned 39 years, Coleman as President retired from the agency in 1987. Upon graduation from Brown University, and a tour of duty with the U.S. Army, Raymond A. Covill, joined the agency in 1956. Raymond Covill is a past director of Independent Insurance Agents of Massachusetts.

HC & C were recommended to us when we were getting unbelievably high flood quotes for my bosses' 8 unit apartment building in Dartmouth. Peter Covill worked diligently to price out other options until he came in with the lowest possible quote - less than half our original!!! I can't recommend them highly enough. Apart from the amazing cost savings, their customer service is exceptional - very, very happy to work with them!!!

My real estate broker recommended this agency, and I am glad she did. From the beginning, I felt like they knew me forever ( probably a long relationship with my real estate broker). Anyway, the caring has carried over even when an auto carrier had premiums they couldn't match. They continually provide rates that are better than I can locate, just not the special deal from the auto carrier.
