Our bright, peaceful studio and knowledgeable, friendly instructors create a sense of acceptance and empowerment in our students. Our students frequently comment on how approachable and warm our instructors are. The studio is equipped with the full line of Pilates apparatus, including reformers, chairs, towers, and Cadillac.

We offer Pilates Equipment, Mat, and Barre Classes as well as private lessons. Select from various classes on our schedule or contact us to arrange a private /semi-private lesson. Pilates is a unique form of exercise using precise movements. The low impact nature of a pilates workout along with its emphasis on quality rather than quantity, makes Pilates the perfect workout for any age, body type, or fitness level.

Quality instruction is a priority in our studio, and we maintain the highest standards in teacher training in the indutry. Our instructors take continuing education classes to remain current. Melissa is a STOTT trained Pilates instructor and a licensed clinical psychologist in independent practice She first tried pilates in 2005 after a knee injury.
Joseph Pilates (1800-1967) created this unique, safe, and effective method of exercise that creates long, lean, strong muscles. His conditioning method helped rehabilitate patients in an English hospital during World War I. By taking springs from under a hospital bed and using them for resistance work, bed-bound patients regained strength with remarkable results.
Small group classes provide synchronized group energy and compliment your private sessions and training goals. We keep our students at their current level. Through individual modifications, most of our small group classes can accommodate a wide range of abilities.

We keep our classes small, but because you will never have 100% of an instructor's attention in a group setting, it is highly recommended that someone new to a Pilates studio setting take 3-5 private sessions before joining an ongoing equipment class.This class utilizes the wall unit with spring attachments (called "The Tower") Tower Classes combine the Pilates mat work with apparatus in a small group setting.

I have been a patron of Pilates on the Avenue for about 20 months. Over that time I have seen a noticeable increase in strength and flexibility. Each member of the staff are excellent and very knowledgeable of Pilates and how to adapt exercises if required by the skill or lack of skill of the student.
