In 1975, the founders of the company quickly discovered the considerable difference in the quality of water depending on location. The water source, whether city or well, hardness, iron and sulfur content, and total dissolved solids, were all issues that had to be addressed. Many of the aforementioned issues were easily rectified with basic equipment applications.

The issue of total dissolved solids (TDS) however proved to be a bit more challenging. Originally thought to be the industry's preferred method of TDS removal, de-ionization (DI) was the way SoBrite also resolved this issue. We shortly began doing more research with the effects of Reverse Osmosis (RO) which proved to be more effective.
